Trio of Birthday Cards

Hi and how's life at your place....

Not much in the way of card making last week as we had the girls sleepover for 3 nights and they do keep you busy... Saturday I rested most of the day too pooped to move.  Here they are at the local shopping centre where they had different craft activities

So I got time today to finish off a few WIPs --  some loose watercolouring images I had started

  • This PSX Hibiscus was stamped with Versafine smokey grey and then watercoloured with Distress Inks:  ripe persimmon, mustard seed,  mown lawn, shabby shutters, salty ocean
  • Trimmed to a square panel and lastly added a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Dandelion Wishes, stamped with Versafine black and clear heat embossed

  • This Hero Arts Polka dot vase bouquet was stamped with black Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Oxide: kirsch flamingo, Distress Inks: mown lawn, mustard seed, fossilised amber, candied apple
  • Trimmed the panel and added a bright pink frame... stamping the sentiment in black Versafine, clear heat embossing - from Happy Little Stampers Fun Birthday Sentiment

  • Using this Stampendous Fresh Bloom stamp, I inked the stamp with Distress Ink: seedless preserves, mown lawn using the mini cubes
  • Then I loose watercoloured the image by dragging the colours from the stamped ink.  Added a few splats of seedless preserves
  • And stamped the sentiment from Close to my Heart -Joyful Birthday Occasions... used Versamark and heat embossed with Sizzix Fir Tree embossing powder

Two Shimmer and Shine Christmas cards

In the swing of things this week.... ideas pop into your head when you're delving into your supplies and I've come up with two cards... all shiny too

  • For this card I found some lovely shiny foil patterned paper in my stash
  • Die cut this bauble from Memory Box: Cabrini Ornament, in white card and watercoloured with Distress Inks - Candied apple, Mown lawn, Fossilised amber.   Then painted over with Magical Micas - Peony scarlet, Bells of Ireland, Yellow rose of Texas to give it some real shimmer.
  • Die cut the sentiment - Memory Box - Sophisticated Snowflakes set, from silver glitter card
  • Assembled the elements on a white card and attached the bauble with foam tape

  • My second card is a shiny star die cut from Australian Simply Cards: Fancy Festive Star Nesting set.  I cut it into white card panel and then die cut the shape with the outline die to make a mask and lightly spritzed with Mister Huey's Shine
  • I cut a piece of gold holographic card to place behind the star and then also the sentiment from Kaisercrafts Christmas Sentiments set.
  • Die cut some tiny stars in pale gold metallic card and also a strip to mount the sentiment on and assembled the card

Merry Christmas

For the October CAS Christmas Card challenge I have watercoloured my own little snowman using Smokey Grey and Candied Apple Distress Ink.  Then die cut the panel with CUTplorations Crazy Running Double Stitched Rectangle die.  Then stamped the Sentiment from Clear Impressions Classic Christmas in Archival Brilliance Rocket Red and clear embossed onto the bottom of a white card and then  attached the image panel with foam sheet.
I am also joining in the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday  WWC326 - Helen's All About Occasions. Thanks for stopping by my blog,  have a Wonderful Creative day,     cheers  Robyn

Just wanted to say....

  • I die the the floral in white card using a magazine freebie - Card Making Magic - Between the Line Crocus set and as it is a slim image decided to make a slim line card
  • I die the the flowers again using different colours and then inlaid them back into the white frame and added some depth to the flowers with coloured pencils
  • Trimmed a piece of purple glitter card to use as a background for the floral image and attached to a folded slim line white card
  • To finish I stamped  the sentiment in black Versafine ink and clear embossed it and attached to the card with foam tape

Hugs

I'm back with another of my Alcohol Ink backgrounds, I had to stop myself before I ended up with a pile to add to my stash... lots of fun and messy fingers

  • I added red and yellow Paper Mill AD to my vellum and a light mist of Isopropyl Alcohol (compliments of my son)
  • Die cut three of the leaves from the Sizzix -Cutout Leaves set, arranged together in one corner.
  • Used light yellow card behind the vellum when I attached it to the panel
  • Finished off with a stamped and clear embossed sentiment from Hero Arts - Hugs, in Versafine Clair Tulip Red, fussy cut and attached with foam tape.

Thanks for visiting,  have a Wonderful Creative weekend,   cheers

  • Using Versfina smokey grey to stamp my Protea from Uniquely Creative - Flying By set.
  • Lightly watercoloured the background with Distress Inks and then added detail with coloured pencils.
  • Trimmed to a square panel, and added a fine apricot layer and attached to a sage green card
  • To finish stamped and silver embossed the sentiment from Inspired by Stamping - Poppies set and attached with a dark orange layer with foam tape.

Happy Birthday

  • I recently got this die with a magazine - Card Making Magic - Between the Line Crocus set and so of course I had to die cut it straight away....
  • I did a bit of fiddling and part cutting then reverse the panel and recut one end of the die... so I could make a longer slim card
  • Then I found in my smooched backgrounds a long enough piece to go behind the die cut (no clue how I made this but do know I recycled the back of a bought card - shiny and slightly textured
  • Attached to a slim card and finished off with a stamped sentiment from Happy Little Stampers - Fun birthday sentiments....used Stampin' Up Island Indigo and clear embossing and a few green gems

Thanks for visiting,   have a Wonderful Creative day..... cheers

Special Occasion Waterlily card

Of course I had to choose Water Lily for the

I stamped my image in grey ink and lightly watercoloured with Distress Inks then added detail with coloured pencils... added a touch of sparkle with glitter glue to the dragonfly and water ripples.
It's a large image and I finally decided to add the lattice frame... had to adjust and cut twice to change the sizing but with the little cut outs it lined up wonderfully.  Trimmed purply pink card to highlight the frame and attached to a white card.... enough busyness so I left off a sentiment so the card can be used for any occasion.

I am also playing along at Watercooler Wednesday  WWC 316 - Cathy's challenge - All About Occasions.
