Pink Cards Tote

SOS #100 Mother's Day or Pink

I had an idea early this year to box up my stash of cards (I make many more than I could possible give awayy - I suppose that means I'm ADDICTED) and give them as gifts and donate them to charity trading tables... so here's one of the container ideas I've finally finished off and I think is the easiest AND it only uses one sheet of 12x12 (so I'm planning to use up some of those coloured sheets that don't quite make into the card colour schemes).  Annabelle Stamps ac162, this week have an Anything Goes theme, so do Our Creative Corner and Shopping Our Stash SOS#100 have a 'Pink Theme' or Mothers' Day....I've made this little box for my mum and will be able to give it to her weekend after next when we get together for my sisters 50th.  If I want to do tag closers though I'll have to check I've got matching colours and try out other ideas to close the top (used velcro here)...this one was hard to match up. Thanks for taking a peek

PS...I got this box idea from Pinterest and then can't find it again...lucky I had folded up a try out one

JAI 162 - Just Add A Technique you've never tried before!

Something a little different for my second this afternoon...
I've combined three challenges Our Creative Corner - Fashion and Style - I've used some great stamps free with a magazine, Shopping our Stash -asking you to use letters or text on the card; I did stamp the background on the left but covered most of it with designer paper containing text and finally Just Add Ink JAI 162 asked we try a technique we haven't tried before; my technique was to stamp my sentiment in Versamark, emboss with white embossing powder and then used distress inks to colour the background.  I'm quite happy with my card, thanks for taking a peek

Friends

COLORS AND PATTERNS in the PHOTO
AND include at least one piece of METAL EMBELLISHMENT.

Another gorgeous day here in Central Queensland - this morning I was determined to set up my table and unload all my stamping gear from the caravan so I could make my first card in our new home... it's a start, I have a nice view from my window and I can wait a few more weeks for all our belongings to arrive.
I decided to do the challenge at Our Creative Corner because I just love the lantern in the inspirational photo - my photo colours are out a bit as my patterned paper is more green than blue.  I love the metal button I found in my stash and the sentiment is true... new town, a place to meet new friends.  Hope you're enjoying your week and thanks for taking a peek.

Lots of candles

Hello happy stampers from my tiny table here in our caravan...yippee finally at last we've arrived in Rockhampton, QLD. And so starts the next chapter in our lives....spent the last two days checking out rental properties and today Stephen has gone off to do some work so I've dug out my bit and pieces from under the bed to make a card. Here's my effort at a male (junior) card for Seize the Birthday STB#8 and a card bearing a birthday cake in colours Red, Blue and Yellow for Our Creative Corner - It's my Birthday challenge....used a cuttlebug die and embossing set to layer up this cake - bit fiddly making flames.

White Swirl Best Wishes

White with a Decorative Edge

Hi there today from sunny Queensland - well it's not sunny it's been pouring rain all day and the yard is flooded - talk about tropical weather, this is the side affects from a small cyclone that crossed the coast 450kms north of here.  I'm not really complaining we can do with the rain - but I can't garden so the next best thing is to get out my stamping gear once again and set up temporary work space on the dining room table.  I've made an all white card today for the Our Creative Corner challenge - embossed a panel, cuts some swirls and a decorative edge and rolled a couple of flowers. I stamped the sentiment in charcoal and embossed with pearl white to soften the effect. Thanks for taking a peek

Our Creative Corner, Sketchbook Saturday

My next card for today (while I'm skyping with friend Vikki) is using the layout from Sketchbook Saturday #84 and the ABC challenge at Our Creative Corner.  As you can see I'm still on the distress ink background kick, and to comply with the OCC challenge I have stamped an angle on the bottom corner of the tag which is mounted in chipboard and then a button the finish it off.
Thanks for taking a peek

Retro Sketches, Our Creative Corner

Make Your Own Background

Hi there from a rather warm Saturday here in Perth...at least in the caravan it's hot....
Today I've made this card for two challenges...Retro Sketches rs#37 using their layout and over at Our Creative Corner it's - make your own background - with absolutely no patterned paper. So this week I experimented with my Distress Ink Pads and some H2Os in a spray bottle and finally Perfect Pearl Mists then I stamped over with a butterfly/word stamp.  Thanks for taking a peek

Freshly Made Sketches, Our Creative Corner

I created this background paper with stamps and Glimmer mist and a little sponging for the challenge at Our Creative CornerMake Your Own Background. The stamped image is from Chocolate Baroque and I combine it with some ribbons to complete the layout for Freshly Made Sketches #60. Thanks for taking a peek

retro sketches rs#26, Our Creative Corner OCC

Our Creative Corner

This is a card in progress.....thanks to Sue for her helping and encouraging comments on my other card I decided to make my friends birthday card "Shabby Chic" too and I just checked the close time on the blog - 3 minutes - so I quickly laid the card together and snapped off a pic - just made it by the skin of my teeth...so will now post some more pics when I've finished....

Here now is the finished card...inspired by Monia - her cards are gorgeous. I'm thrilled with the result and I'm sure my friend will be rapt.
I've had a lovely afternoon chatting on Skype with Vikki and thank her for her company- she's been really creative too so check out her work. Thanks for taking a peek and enjoy your weekend.

Christmas, Our Creative Corner

I seem to be on a roll today...although Vikki and I are experiencing a lot of trouble with Skype.  I was pleased to see a sketch challenge with Our Creative Corner this week and as my cards are it's good to see my card stack growing. I've just made to challenge post in time but I do like this sketch so will be making a few more with different papers.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Wedding Anniversary, Our Creative Corner

Hi there everyone this week....unfortunately I wasn't at my desk this past weekend and missed stamping with my friend Vikki - had to make a quick trip to see my folks as dad isn't too well. We're all hoping he will be around for their 60th wedding anniversary coming up mid March.  So quickly on Friday before I flew down to see them I made two cards - one for each as dad lives in a nursing home - he's 83 in April. He tells mum very often he loves her and needs a hug and kiss......we should all hug our loved ones often as you just never know what tomorrow will bring. That's precisely why I went - I would rather give hugs and attention while they're alive than attend a funeral.
PS ...now on some after thought I'd like to share these cards with the Our Creative Corner challenge - Making Melody.....and I think that my parents 60th is a true reason to celebrate - All You Need Is Love by John Lennon.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Scrapbook Boutique challenge, Less is More, Our Creative Corner

Morning everyone, hump day, Wednesday today and I enjoy cruising my favourite challenge blog sites to see how my weekend is going to evolve with the creative challenges and participants out there.
I do like trying to combine a couple at once - so here today I have used the Scrapbook Boutique February challenge (photo above) for inspiration on colour and content and then the Our Creative Corner girls challenge - Over the Edge ; had me simply turning my square into a diamond and so off the card front and finally to play along with the Less is More Week 56 challenge Don't Scrap It - to use your scraps....here I am always playing along - I'm terrible - save every thing, you'd be surprised what stamping mistakes are on the back and even my card base is an abandoned card with a smudge on the wording so here I placed a pearl discretely on to disguise my oops... :)  I created the checked card using the inked edge of a piece of foam and first time use also of my Cuttlebug Take the Cake - die and embossing set.  Thanks for taking a peek..

Less is More challenge: week 55, Play Date Cafe 119, Our Creative Corner challenge

Happy TGIF everyone.  At my desk today I was determined to have a card finished to post for the Less in More -week 55 challenge to use punches or dies and to assist I have used  the theme for the Our Creative Corner challenge - black and white and a splash of any colour    - which is also last weeks Play Date Cafe PDCC119 colour challenge using black and white and a splash of colour - hot pink but I decided to use red.
I love making this die cut layered flowers - here I used the Die-namics Uspsey Daisies die and for the stamen the Nellie Snellen punch. And lately inking my embossing folders has come up with some interesting results-here I used black ink on my Cuttlebug Bloom Dots folder.  Thanks for taking a peek
