Have a Sweet Day

Nice to be home and at my desk today.... I've used a stencilled background I made recently, for this weeks Retro Sketch layout re#163.  I die cut the banner and cut out the stamped sentiment to mount on the card with a button and twine to finish it.
Thanks for taking a peek

Hello Friend

This afternoon I am using the layout at Retro Sketches re#162
and the colour palette from ColourQ cQc#289
also joining in with Just Us Girls #291 where they would like to see "Twine" used.

Flowers are just my favourite and I am using a NBUS orchid stamp - I really love this with the mixed background already there. Again I've used the Distress Inks to watercolour the image and for the first time in ages I've used a piece of designer paper for the back panel. Then I just layered the image and sentiment and mounted them with foam tape and finished the card with a button tied through with a twine bow.

Season's Greetings

A Rustic Christmas card from me today for the Merry Monday #133 challenge. I've used an olde world image from my 12x12 stack and layered it on a tiny margin of white and blue to bring out the colours. Used a die cut edge and a co-ordinating strip for the sentiment and finished the card with a pearl and some matching twine.  I'm also posting to Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#87 - Colour inspiration and have used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#139, also the theme at The Paper Players#220 is Vintage or Antique.  Thanks for taking a peek

My Dear Friend

Have been quietly working away at my desk this afternoon watching a movie and this card has come  together just lovely. I'm using the layout at Retro Sketches #123.  I love these colours and fished around in my scraps drawer and happily found all these bits that blend together. I used a Post Card tag and die cut the flower then added some pearls for the center. I mounted all this on some very old handmade paper and finished off the card with a tag stamped with my sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday

Happily today my friend Vikki is skyping and we're making cards together...I've chosen to make a card using the layout at Retro Sketches rs#119 and the palette at Colour Me - CMCC#25. These are such pretty colours and so me :-)  Just added a decorative label and a floral ribbon spray to finish the card.

Happy Birthday

A quiet afternoon here at my desk so I've finished off this card using a monochrome colour palette and the layout from Retro Sketches rs#116. I have also played along at Less Is More - Week 173, Include a Die Cut.  For my card I cut two  large circles from blue and white card and layered them over some gorgeous Teresa Collins designer paper and mounted these onto a swiss dot embossed background. Then I formed a flower medallion from three die cuts and centered it with a pearl brad and attached this to a tag sentiment. Just finished off the scalloped circle with a few tiny pearls, I'm very happy with my finished card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Sending Smiles

With my second card  today I've used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#115 and the colours from Just Add Ink #215. I embossed the bird image and tore the paper as I did with the layer underneath. Then using two different sized circle stencils I Distress Inked the round shape and stamped on the sentiment. A few gems and a couple of grass shapes finished off the card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Just a Note

Hi there again today....I combined three challenges for this card..
the colours from the Paper Players PP#195
the layout from Retro Sketches rs#114
the theme from City Crafters - 'Pin It'
I  dry embossed the background and lightly sanded it.  Then using the same embossing folder I dabbed Distress Ink on one side, lightly sprayed it with water and hand pressed white card on top to create the center panel. Clipped my sentiment along with a die cut medallion to the centrepiece with a mini peg.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Live every Moment...

Lovely Saturday here in Townsville where I'm visiting while hubby is away for two weeks and even better I've had a sleepover at Saturday skyping friend Vikki's home with another crafty friend Estelle and we're in our element in Vikki's craft room stamping our hearts out.
Late last night I complete two cards...this one for the Retro Sketches rs#113 layout and using the palette at Color Throwdown ctd291. Some gorgeous background paper and a punched flower I think brings the theme together. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Two Turtle Doves

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge - April, Any Christmas card
Hello and welcome to my blog, today I have a Christmas card - a nice bright one for a change. I'm using the layout at Retro Sketches rs#111, and the theme of '12 days of Christmas' at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and I'm posting at Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Extra challenge as it's Anything Christmas this month.  I'm very pleased there are these Christmas challenges happening throughout the year as it certainly helps build the card stash and take the pressure off at the end of the year when you have many other things to be concentrating on; even  just getting cards posted is a task.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friends are the Essence of Life

A card this morning for the Retro Sketches rs#109 challenge....all of these components were in my stash drawers; the background panel is made with Distress Inks and Perfect Pearl Mist, the Friends sentiment already stamped and I mounted it on a commercial tag attached to some Kaisercraft stamps I bought and the middle panel is the section left over from die cutting a flourish and I decided it looked cool left on and cut away. A tiny butterfly and some pearls to finish the card. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Live Laugh Love

A big welcome to a new month...can you believe it's March already. A tag card from me this fine Saturday afternoon...alas I'm without my skyping friend Vikki who is off enjoying a relaxing weekend by the beach.   I've used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#103 for my tag and another flower made from my jars of visible flowers on the shelf above my desk, layered over a diecut  onto a tag I coloured and stamped.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday

My first card from my desk today where it's cool, overcast and drizzly outside, so the sunlight isn't wonderful for taking photos. Anyway, I've used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#100...where they are celebrating their 100th challenge, go girls I love your sketches.  The colours I've used today are my own combination taken from the centre dp piece...I'm really liking the result.

Happy happy birthday

As you can see by my sunrise photo of the kookaburra I'm becoming quite attached these funny birds... they visit us on our balcony everyday and we hand feed them...this one is a regular and was watching for me when I appeared quite early to get this gorgeous sunrise,  he was quite happy to be part of the photo too.
So as I just happen to have a kookaburra stamp my card for Retro Sketches  #68 this week features them.  Thanks for taking a peek
