Just Because...

Inspired by Stamping, Irit Shalom, WHW134, Everyday Greetings Stamp Set, Thinking Of You CardWHW #134–Make Your Own Fancy Embellishments

At Inspired by Stamping this week the Whoo Hoo Wednesday tutorial #134 is to make your own embellishments...here is Irit's lovely Good Friends card showing her star embellishments.
I made my pearl center by first die cutting a flower in glitter paper and adhering pearls to sequins and then arranging them around the center pearl. I also scatter a few single ones on the card.
This fine lady is a stamped image sent to my by my very special stamping buddy Vikki and she challenged me to make a card...well it has sat on my desk for some time with no inspiration because I wasn't sure how I was going to colour her...well I've used my Twinkling H2Os. Then die cut a medallion in black and under-laid it with a mauve piece I sprayed with shine colour mist. The sentiment is from the IBS Flowers Bloom set. The background is an inked embossing folder and the white foliage just stands out on the left - I think it suits this lady and I'm very happy with how it turned out.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Hello

Inspired by Stamping, Leah Cornelius, Color Blocking Tutorial, Sweet Peas Stamp SetA new technique over at Whoo Hoo Wednesday #133, Inspired by Stamping... Colour Blocking ...Leah has made this lovely card with instructions so I'm playing along.   I have cheated "just a little bit" - having been dying to use my paint sample strips for ages and this technique seemed like to right moment.  (If I get time I'll make another card and create my own colour block).  I simple outline stamp and I had to colour them with permanent markers because other mediums wouldn't stick and I used a white gel pen to highlight the dots and lace. A little butterfly at top hides the colour numbers and one next to the IBS sentiment to finish it off.. This card also follows the colour theme for IBS#79. Thanks for taking a peek, hope you're having a great weekend Robyn

On Your Special Day

Hi and hope you're enjoying your day...I've been busy at my desk making a card for the Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique tutorial #132 over at Inspired by Stamping. Joanna has a video tut on how to incorporate a larger stamped image into a die. I have done this before but it's a great way to display an image and add dimension.  I played along also with the Pals Paper Arts PPA197 card layout, used some soft pink DP as background, watercoloured the lovely Rose image from IBS Flowers Bloom set and the sentiment, and dressed the card with some ribbon, lace and pearls.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

WHW # 131 – Dryer Sheet Flower Tutorial

Inspired by Stamping, Kednra Sand, WHW Tutorial, Dryer Sheet Flower Tutorial
This afternoon I've put together this card for the Inspired by Stamping Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique challenge.  The DT girls go to a lot of trouble to try out new techniques and present them for us to try....this weeks technique is using dryer sheets to make flowers...well I don't have a dryer so I used some woven stiffening and and layered with some very fine lining fabric. I used a flower brad to hold the layers together and then repeated the brad with die cut flowers and some die cut leaves.  Finished off with a label and sentiment from Inspired by Stamping - Lovely Birthday set.

Be Yourself....

Inspired by Stamping, Irit Shalom, WHW Tutorial 130, Gelli PrintWHW Tutorial 130–Gelli Print

Hi there on this windy Tuesday in Yeppoon, well I must've really enjoyed playing around with my Gelli Plate and paints last because I've made another card for the technique challenge WHW #130 at Inspired by Stamping.  Irit made such a lovely tag (right), I loved the colours and her embellishments.  I used my credit card to squish paint about on the Gelli Plate and after pulling 3 cards I I rubbed an embossed piece over the leftover paint and got my background piece. Finished off my tag with some threads, a couple of butterflies and sentiment label.  Thanks for taking a peek...I had fun Robyn

Just for You

WHW Tutorial 130–Gelli Print

Inspired by Stamping, Irit Shalom, WHW Tutorial 130, Gelli PrintI made this card for the Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique challenge at Inspired by Stamping. Irit created this gorgeous tag with her Gelli Print Tutorial 130.  I didn't have the same paints so just used the ones I had on my Gelli Plate and pulled four A5 backgrounds from it; the top left one I covered with modge podge and the bottom two I sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist (see other pic - it's has a silvery sheen).  Another of my paper flowers I've been making this week with a new die, and a bunch of turquiose colour wool to finish off the tags. I ended up adding the white frame which I'd cut to see how it worked with another card today and whhellaa it just seemed to fit. I was really sure about the pink and blue prints but overall I'm happy with the way it turned out....always in for trying something new. Cheers and thanks for taking a peek Robyn

WHW Tutorial #129–Creating A Frame With Dies

IBSIC-#77 This afternoon I've made this soft pale blue card for the WHW#129 technique at Inspired by Stamping and I've also used the inspirational colour  photo for the IBSIC#77 challenge.  I would've normally made the die cut frame in reverse; simply cutting two labels and layering them, here they are cut into the top designer paper and carefully positioned to cut the second smaller one. I'm really happy with the finished card with a die sentiment tag and handmade flowers. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Thinking of You

Inspired-by-Stamping-Blog-Hop---Tag-It IBS_LoveYou_Jan29

Oh yes, it's great to be back fiddling at my desk after having a wonderful visit with our kids and 3mth old granddaughter.
My card today incorporates two challenges from Inspired by Stamping - firstly  I've tackled this weeks Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique;  #128 Dryer Sheet....although I didn't have a dryer sheet to use I found some very fine fibre fabric which seemed to work just fine with adhereing the glitter. They also have a IBS Blog Hop - Tag It challenge to include a tag - I sponged the edge of my tag to tie it in with the colours on the strip and finished it off with a lovely flower and bling.

With Best Wishes

PS...I really didn't like the cream card with my original card so I luckily I was able to pull the front off with any damage and re-do it....I think I looks a lot better

clip_image010WHW #126 Creating Custom Pattern Paper

IBSIC-#74This afternoon I've tackled a tutorial at Inspired by Stamping where Leah has made this lovely card using the new stamp set Vintage Roses.  I even had to create the mint colour by mixing Broken China and Shabby Shutters distress inks, misting and mixing and swiping across white card stock. Then I used a swirl stamp in a darker shade ink to create the overall pattern and finally  randomly white embossed a flower. I finished it off with a die cut Fancy Label and a paper flower I layered and tinted up the centres with pink.  I've used these colours so I can post to the IBSIC#74 challenge as well.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Today my Christmas card is for two challenges....at Crazy 4 Challenges C4C211, their theme is a Frame, so I've decided to use a die cut window frame for my card and have added a 'Colleen Bow' dressed with a pearl for the Inspired by Stamping Whoo Hoo Wednesday WHW#122 technique challenge...my stash of cards is growing....hope yours is too...thanks for taking a peek

WHW #121–Embossed Edges

Last Wednesday at Inspired by Stamping their Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique #121 was for Embossed Edges...I love doing this technique and on Saturday made this card at friend Vikki craft space using ALL of her gear as I'm in town this week cuddling up to our new granddaughter Sophie Alice.  I chose to emboss the edges of my tag with a matching ink colour - got to use Vikki's new Spellbinders lattice die and inked up some seambinding to match....it for a special couple who sent me a birthday gift :-), I might add a flower to the top left corner.  Thanks for taking a peek

WHW #114–How to Prep Your Brand New IBS Stamp Sets

IBSIC-#61My card today is for the Inspired by stamping Inspiration Challenge #61 - I really like these fresh colour and the serene pic, and also as I am using Inspired by Stamping items - the sentiment is from the Cupcake Wishes set and the Label is from the Fancy Labels Dies 2 set so I'm my card to their Whoo Hoo Wednesday #114 challenge - this was a very handy video and I'll be busy rubbing and washing my new stamps, thank you Joanne.
When I run my dies through the Cuttlebug I layer a sheet of waxed paper between the die and the cardstock and then when you peel off the die you have the die and also a silhouette - I'be been having fun recently creating backgrounds by sponging over these silhouettes.  An easy and effective background so I'll be saving more of my wax papers.  Thanks for taking a peek

WHW Tutorial #113–Distress Stamping

Here's my friends card I've been working on these last couple of days for the Whoo Hoo Wednesday tutorial #113 - Distress Stamping.  I liked the different colour combo at last weeks Shopping Our Stash so tried to tie that in with the grasses background I created with the Distress Stamping technique. My sentiment is from a new set I won from Inspired by Stamping - so happy to have some new words to use.. Hope you're having a great week and thanks for taking a peek

Floral Vellum Happy Birthday

WHW Tutorial #112–Colored Vellum Flowers

I enjoyed making my Christmas Vellum card for the Inspired by Stamping WHW#112 challenge so here's my second attempt with flowers.  I even left the petals free as they curled slightly when I coloured them. Thanks for taking a peek

Vellum Holly Christmas

clip_image008WHW Tutorial #112–Colored Vellum Flowers  - I love Leahs card (left)

Hi  there at long last from my desk...it seems like ages since I made a card, but it's been worth it to see our kids - they drove down together for a visit as it was Ryan's 26th birthday on Saturday. And also I've been busy sewing for Jacalyn's baby due in October.
I've made a card using the WHW #112 tutorial at Inspired by Stamping to make another Christmas card...I made holly vellum leaves and coloured them with Versa Color inks and a damp brush....I'm definitely going to make a few more.

Merry Christmas tree

Whoo hoo for me too - my first Christmas cards for the year and I'm way behind last year when by this stage I had all of mine made.  Great to start though, I love Christmas and it'll be extra special this year with a grand daughter to share with.  So my card is for the Merry Monday July challenge - anything goes. And I also had a heap of fun running with the Inspired by Stamping Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique WHW#111, Maskng with your background stamps -  well I was going to use a background stamp but ended up being inspired a bit by Bonnies card which is actually an embossed tree....so I dug out some lineal stamps and had a super time creating my trees with the triangle mask. Thanks for taking a peek
PS
Hazel also suggested I post my cards on her blog Christmas challenge CHNC for July
