Especially for You

Today I'm stamping via Skype with my friend Vikki and we're both feeling low on imagination....so I suggested we just open one of our favourite challenge sites and make that project.  So I chose the layout at Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge #229 and the colours from Colour Me CM#82 - coral, navy and white.  I scrounged in my stash of pre-made backgrounds and chose this coral and navy piece, sliced it in three and decided to arrange it on a pale coral background (the plain white was too stark).  Then I cut and stamped a banner in bright coral and then used my Distress Inks to colour up  a few flower layers and moulded to shape when it was dry. I punched some mini flowers and arranged them on the card with white pearl centres.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

Again I have resorted to making a card for Summer of Color 5 : SOC 5 - week 4  RED, RED, & METALLIC
I had some fun with  my Distress Inks to achieve the background, planned to concentrate the depth in the bottom corner as I had picked out this rose stamp (because roses are red!!) - I used Barn Door, Festive Berries and Aged Mahogany. Then I stamped the image in red and when everything was very dry I applied Versamark Ink to edges of the rose petals and then dusted it with Brilliant Gold Inference powder. Finally I stamped and embossed my sentiment in gold embossing powder and layered my top panel onto red metallic card.  I am also posting to Colour Me CMCC#78 - Monochromatic - Red.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

What a bright and cheerful colour - Tangelo Twist, so when I unearthed this distress inked background I just had to make a card for the Colour Me CMCC#61 challenge.  I stamped the daisy and masked it a few times, in orange and used distress inks to colour just one bloom. Simple finished of the card with a band of ribbon and a swirly sentiment.

Be Well

My inspiration for this card came from Maureen and her card on the left. I made the card using Distress Inks and two stamps that I used whole and then masked off half to create different blooms. I die cut an oval in the top panel so the back layer would show through and frame my Get Well sentiment for challenge #29 at The Card Concept  and used the colour palette at Colour Me CMCC#60 - Colour me Playful.

Thinking of You

Well this afternoon there has been a lot of mucking around....couldn't settle on a challenge, but in the end I've gone back to the first one over at CAS(E) this Sketch #84 and using the palette at Colour Me #28.
I masked off a section of white card and sponged distress inks over the area and then lightly spritzed it. Then I stamped the dragonflies and sentiment over this section. I chose to detail colour one dragonfly added some gems and dimensional magic, and then gave the others a light wash of Twinkling H2Os.

Happy Birthday

Happily today my friend Vikki is skyping and we're making cards together...I've chosen to make a card using the layout at Retro Sketches rs#119 and the palette at Colour Me - CMCC#25. These are such pretty colours and so me :-)  Just added a decorative label and a floral ribbon spray to finish the card.

Friends are the Sunshine of Life

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with "Trees".
  2. Create a project with "Heat or Dry Embossing".
  3. Or Mash it up and create a project with "Embossing and Trees".
When my friend Vikki saw the colours this week at ColourMe...subtle - CCC#21, she immediately thought of me and knew I would love them and as it works out the photo inspiration at The Shabby Tea Room: Week 219, theme Flowers and Balloons are playing my favourite colours too
I have teamed these colours with the Friday Mashup FM161 theme of including a tree and heat embossing.  I was totally inspired by the Colour Me inspirational photo that I just had to dig out my tiny flower punch and create this blossom branch.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Friends are the Sunshine of LIfe

Yeah!!!! it's Friday... I'm happy for everyone who works and has the weekends off...my hubby included.
Yesterday afternoon I was playing around some old drawing ink I have to see how they worked compared with distress inks -and they're not too ; this is a bright orange one dripped onto wet watercolour paper and then I diluted it heaps and painted in the white space, and masked and stamped my sunflower  Finished off by inking the edge and adding a sentiment. So the bright orange fitted just nicely with the monochromatic theme at Colour Me CMCC#14.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Thinking of You

Today my card is in monochrome colours - Wisteria, for the Colour Me #6 challenge using the layout at Freshly Made Sketches FMS122. I created a background with distress ink - shaded lilac and an embossing folder and then used the distress ink to colour the die cut flower and the centre of the die shape. Sorry about the poor photo - everytime I tried to adjust the setting I ended up with a blue card and it is definitely a lovely shade of wisteria. Thanks for taking a peek  Robyn
