Saturday I  enjoyed a a day with two crafty friends. We played around with Vikki's new Brushos.... I am so excited about painting with them.  For this card I stamped my Inspired by Stamping poppies in Versa Mark and clear embossed them and then used the Brushos to colour the images and apply colour around them.  I the orange shades and am posting to ColourQ # cQc312. Also over at Simon Says Monday challenge the technique is Wonderful Watercolor.

Eveyrthing Beautiful has it's Moment

I am enjoying some quiet time at my desk, making a few cards today.
I have used the palette at ColourQ cQc#295 - Navy, Pink, Gold and White,
First I stamped the scroll in light blue as the background to my sentiment which I embossed. Then I stamped, and painted my butterfly with Twinkling H2Os and dusted it with Interference Gold. I fussy cut it and attached some gems and antennae and foam mounted it to the card  and mounted this to navy and gold layers and finished with a single sequin.

Hello Friend

This afternoon I am using the layout at Retro Sketches re#162
and the colour palette from ColourQ cQc#289
also joining in with Just Us Girls #291 where they would like to see "Twine" used.

Flowers are just my favourite and I am using a NBUS orchid stamp - I really love this with the mixed background already there. Again I've used the Distress Inks to watercolour the image and for the first time in ages I've used a piece of designer paper for the back panel. Then I just layered the image and sentiment and mounted them with foam tape and finished the card with a button tied through with a twine bow.

To Someone Special

My second card this weekend is using the palette at ColourQ cQc#288 and the layout at CAS(E) this Sketch CTS#120.
I used Distress Ink sponged over a couple of stencils to create the background and then stamped over my birdcage, bird and sentiment. Layered this panel on kraft coloured card and on my white card. Quick and easy although I did mull over the image to use.

Here's Wishing You...

One more card from me today - I've made this one using the palette at ColourQ cQc#286 and added some twine and beads for the inspirational photo at Inspired by Stamping IBSIC#92.
I masked off a rectangle on white card and stamped and coloured the Honeysuckle flowers off the page and then watercoloured around them leaving the center blank. I trimmed the card leaving a white border and layered it on bluegreen card. Then made a tag and stamped the IBS sentiment and attached twine threaded with beads - I like this effect in the photo. Finished off the card - mounting the tag with 3D tape and added a few sparkling gems.  This is also my project this month for our ABC TAG/Card project... "H" for Honeysuckle and "Here's Wishing You..."

Think Peaceful Thoughts

I seem to be on a roll today...my third card.  Now I have used a new technique today which I saw on Youtube here  - Easy Triple Time stamping. I've used two stamps from my Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet set and followed the tute....randomly stamped the sprig in grey and then the honeysuckle in coral and chianti. Then layered the three panels on soft pink. For the sentiment from Power Poppy Good Thinking set I inked in grey and mounted it on a grey strip and then finished the card with a few pink pearls. I've used the colours at ColourQ cQc#227 and will post to the Power Poppy Peep of the Week challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Happy Birthday to You

Well that was relaxing for a change...go to do some colouring with the distress inks for this card. I created the soft blue background with Broken China Distress Inks and Perfect Pearl Mist and stamped the image in Charcoal to soften the colouring. And finished the card matting it on berry coloured card and a sentiment banner. I'm playing along with the palette at ColourQ #255. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Love my Cat

A quick card from me late yesterday, too dark to photograph....I'm posting it to the CASology week 104 challenge - the theme is Pet. Also to ColourQ #250 where I've opted to add one spot colour, pinkish terracotta, to the base black and white. Don't you just love this stamp - stamps up so well and I've had it for years.  My card is pretty straight forward CAS and I've added some scored lines for fun. We've recently adopted two kitties, they are brothers and thankfully they get on really well...so this card is appropriate for me. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Be happy, Be yourself

A quick card from me this afternoon, using my newish hexagon die. I've made a card using the palette at Colour Q #249...I love these bright happy colours and made them the feature of the card with a thoughtful sentiment. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Remember when.....

When my friend Vikki said today to try this layout from Fab Friday #37 I didn't know where to start - anyway I've made this male card combined with the Colour Q cQc#232 pallet and I'm very pleased with the result.  I've used those little labels that come with designer packs (these are from Kaisercraft) and the only stamping I did was the 'It's Your Birthday'....aannnywaayy!! Happy Birthday Butterfly

What a very lazy Sunday I've had and couldn't even find my mojo to make a card - till I finally decided to go with a butterfly on this card I had started yesterday - found it in my pre-stamped stash just the right colours!!  So my layout is for Freshly Made Sketches #94 and the colours for ColourQ cQc#197  ... a bright cheery card which looks a lot better than the camera tells.  Thanks for taking a peek....hope you're having some creative time

Just for you

What a glorious Friday it is here in Yeppoon a town situated on the Queensland coast on the Tropic of Capricorn and part of the mainland off the Keppal Islands part of the Great Barrier Reef - it's magic.
Well this mornings card is created along the lines of the Freshly Made Sketches #92 layout only I turned the curved line into the opening of my card. I used the palette for ColourQ's  challenge #195 - creating a textured background piece with distress ink on an embossed panel and kept the rest of the card simple.  Thanks for taking a peek and happy Friday

Retro Sketches, Colour Q, Just Add Ink

Well we're a bit slow here in the craft room today, it's already lunch time and this is my first post....mmm.  (Mind you we have made a visit to the local craft shop and we didn't come away empty handed :-) !!!   Retro Sketches re#46 layout caught my eye and then it was a challenge to use the combination of colours at Colour Q cQc#172 - so I've stuck with the solid colours and I kinda like the outcome, my bit of embossing also enables me to post it with the Just Add Ink challenge #149.  Thanks for taking a peek
