Happy Birthday

I spent my birthday money and bought a new die set - it was worth it too.  I made this male card using a watercolour background created with Brushos to display the lovely pattern of the die cut on my white top panel  I used a scrap of the background to stamp my sentiment and edged it with ink. I layered the panel on blue to match and to finish foam mounted my sentiment and added some 'technology' in the form of gear die cuts to finish my card.
I am posting to The Male Room #70 theme challenge - Anything Goes with option on Technology, to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes, to Less is More #348 - Watercolour challenge and finally to Darnell's NBUS #12 challenge - new dies. Thanks for taking a peek

Turn Over a New Leaf

This evening I have a one layer card to post....I don't find these type of cards easy as I'm always wanting to frame my image.  This one was pretty simple to make... I used  NBUS leaf stamps, that stamped really well with Distress Inks - I chose four green shades and masked off  areas to create depth.  Then I finished off with a really appropriate sentiment stamp.  I am posting to Less Is More challenge #319 - One layer card and Leaves.   Also at Shopping Our Stash SOS#294 with a green theme for Luck O' the Irish.  Thanks for taking a peek

Let your Dreams take flight

Well we've had a wonderful day here in Townsville....it's been raining, yeah!!   ... so I've enjoyed an afternoon at my desk.  My first card is very clean and simple, one layer card .... I created the blue hues background - by inking my clean plastic block with marker pens and then lightly spritzing with Perfect Pearls... you can't notice in the photo but there is a lovely shimmer. Then I simply stamped on my birds - that was a bit more work than ink and stamp... I used the stamp opposite and masked off areas with tape and then inked them. I used a white gel pen to colour the birds and finished my card with a stamped sentiment.  I am posting to Addicted to Stamps and More #232 - Make Your Mark - used markers, Less Is More #318 - Mainly Teal and also to Stamplorations CAS card challenge - Anything Goes with optional colour - sky blue.  Thanks for taking  a peek

Happy Birthday

A quiet afternoon here at my desk so I've finished off this card using a monochrome colour palette and the layout from Retro Sketches rs#116. I have also played along at Less Is More - Week 173, Include a Die Cut.  For my card I cut two  large circles from blue and white card and layered them over some gorgeous Teresa Collins designer paper and mounted these onto a swiss dot embossed background. Then I formed a flower medallion from three die cuts and centered it with a pearl brad and attached this to a tag sentiment. Just finished off the scalloped circle with a few tiny pearls, I'm very happy with my finished card.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

celebrate just living

Happy, happy, happy here in Australia...the Aussie cricket team have just won 'the Ashes' back from the Poms in a 5 match  whitewash...yeah!!
So quietly I've been making a card in the background using the layout from Freshly Made Sketches #117 and the colour theme from Less is More #153 - Winter Blues.  Just used a few scraps from my blue card drawer and diagonally scored the background on my Scorepal.  Cheers and thanks for taking a peek

Less is More

BLACK and WHITE
with a touch or a splash, a hint or suggestion, a dab or a  patch of
colour of your choice!

What a disastrous afternoon - I actually screwed up a whole card and tossed it in the bin ... too many smudges and then stuck it on crooked and a few other hiccups.  So I started fresh with a new challenge - here at Less is More - just a plain white card with a splash of colour ... so here's my birthday card, thanks for taking a peek

Less is More

A quick card this afternoon for the
Less is More Challenge

One Layer Week 93 Houses

I did try it using shades of colours on the image but in the end the plain navy worked best.  I love this stamp and need to find some different ways to use it. Thanks for taking a peek.

Less is More, Play Date Cafe

This is my take on the Less is More sketch challenge for week 91. I also struggled with the colours for this card...not sure the Play Date Cafe #156 colours - (Cinnamon, Squash, Vanilla, Sage) best suit the cute little bird house, then I embossed the white background because it looked stark and I layered it too.  Thanks for taking a peek

A super day for card making in my caravan  :-)
For the Less is More challenge: week 85 the theme is to include an OVAL on the card and the lovely simple colours of this weeks challenge at  Dynamic Duos DD#20 - Lucky Limeade and Black.  I enjoy working with two colours and I haven't included an oval for a long time...I have two on my card.

Christmas, Less is More

Hi blog visitors....very slow today, and finding it hard to grasp my mojo - possibly has something to do with working a full week (not part time as I usually do) and having to stocktake the whole store and reserves - anyway now at least it's over for another 12 months.  I do really need to make my aunt an 80th birthday card so thought I might get a boost by having a go at this weeks Less is More challenge #69 to make a card that's not square or rectangle...so I've used one of my dies to make a frame for this Christmas bear. Thanks for taking peek

Less Is More

Well today I'm feeling really weird - probably because after weeks of negotiations, finally we know we're off at the end of June to Perth where hubby has been relocated. I really needed some cheering up and so I decided to run with the Less Is More - week 66 colour challenge - Yellow. .......Yellow reminds me of spring and daffodils - I love flowers and especially miss living in a climate where you can grow spring flowering bulbs. Thanks for taking a peek

Less is More

Good morning this wonderful Friday... can you tell I'm happy it's TGIF.  So I'm on a roll with my second card and really wanted to make one for the LIM challenge
-week 64 with a theme 'How Charming'. I like the concept of less is more and to use a charm this week was wonderful. I have these cute metallic charms I got some years ago so the fish one straight away meant a male card. Thanks for taking a peek.
