It's Your Birthday....

Oh I do struggle with masculine cards... and that's one reason to join in with the challenge at The Male Room #94 - theme is Geometric..... I changed the images for this background a heap of times and finally decided this jumping fish would do...he's stamped and embossed with clear EP and coloured with markers.  The background panel was made brayering ink onto an embossing folder and then using the brayer on the top of the EF onto cardstock.  Then I stamped on my 'splash' and lighted misted with water it ran as I've used watercolour paper, so I waited for it to dry and then re-stamped it with darker ink.  To finish I used a blue card and stamped on my sentiments.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Have a Great Day

Hubby's birthday in a few weeks and he loves his golf so I'm happy to be a head of myself and have his card made already.  I coloured my stamped image with markers and silver gel pen and framed it with sparkly silver card. I teamed it up with a great background piece - very golfy the colours and diamond pattern and to finish added my stamped sentiment to a red strip of card.  I am playing along with The Male Room challenge #91-- Birthday, where they are celebrating their 5th Birthday... congratulations Design Team great effort and lots of inspiration.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Have a Great Day...

This year I have really stepped it up making masculine birthday cards which is cool because they seem to be a lot less involved... Today I have used one of my recently made Twinkling H2O water wash backgrounds and added a stamped dragonfly, then attached my fish - stamped on gloss card and coloured with H2Os - he looks all shiny just like a fish would jumping out of the water.  To finish I added a couple of die cut reeds and a stamped sentiment on a strip.  I am playing along with Challenge #89 at The Male Room - Fish and also at Watercooler Wednesday WWC178 - Crystal's "All About Occasions" challenge and also the Muse card challenge #274 - inspired by Tracey's card - my elements are waterwash background, "fins"

It's Your Birthday...

A fun male card today... my 'bloke' is a stamped image that's been in my stash for sooooo long, I thought he'd be just right for the 'gardening' theme at The Male Room challenge #86.  I used Distress Oxides to colour him then fussy cut him out.  I used three different DO inks to stamp the 'grass' border then sponged on so clouds with a stencil.  I printed the first part of the sentiment and then finished off with stamping the rest.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day

A Load of Birthday Wishes for You

oh goodness... I forgot our son-in-laws birthday this weekend, so have got my act together and created this card for him.  I coloured and fussy cut my stamped truck image and added some sparkle with a silver gel pen to it on the trim and exhaust pipe.  Then I grabbed an load of offcut scraps in different colours and stamped them up with different font 'happy birthday' stamps. The hardest part then was deciding on a background to display it all... and finally found this water wash background in my stash which I framed in dark blue on a blue card.  I am playing along with Challenge #85 at The Male Room - theme Cars.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Have a Great Day!

This fortnight at The Male Room #83 the challenge is 'Symmetry'  - great inspiration for the DT, so I had a good rifle through my stamps and decided these hot air balloons would fit the theme. I stamped two and fussy cut them out, then water coloured them with Brushos.  I used a background panel recently made by brayering the leftover ink on the roller onto a water misted card.  Then I sponged on a landscape horizon and stamped on a tree line. The finish I framed the panel in green and attached to a red card, and added my stamped sentiment.  I am also playing along at Watercooler Wednesday WWC166 - Kath's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Wish you were here!

I've had my 'water coloured' image completed for a couple of weeks, waiting on my desk for the final touches and now I've just managing to post my card to The Male Room challenge #82 - Watercolours, hours before it closes.  I love water colouring and for this island image I used Brushos and Distress Oxide for the sand.  Then I finally decided to make it into a 'postcard'  - used a few stamps from my stash and hand wrote my sentiment, then added a dashed line around the edge when I'd mounted it to my blue card.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.... wouldn't any of us like to be relaxing on a sunny beach.

Challenge #82 - Watercolours

Have a great day...

Me making 'male' cards doesn't happen too often so I do like to join in the challenges at The Male Room - Sports theme this month and at Watercooler Wednesday WWC158 - Masculine, 'Anything Goes.  I water coloured my stamped and embossed image with Brushos and roughly cut it out.  Then I used some foam packaging from a bottle to create my background - dunked my foam in some leftover wet Brushos and swiped onto my back panel... the image had the curve as well so this gave me the line to create the curve... then decided to also cut out the curve, which I mounted along with the skater with foam tape.  I stamped on both sentiments to finish the card.
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.

Best Wishes

Have enjoyed a session of card making with my friend Vikki today and managed to finish this male card for the Silhouette challenge #72 at The Male Room.  Have had this mini square of watercolour background sitting on my desk for some time and final used it as a stormy background for my landscape scene.... I added a few straight lines to the edge to frame it.  Then I simply added it to some card layers on a black card, and to finish stamped my sentiment on a matching blue banner. I am also posting to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes challenge.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

This male birthday card is my attempt at using a black base for a CAS card.  I decided to see how sponged Distress Oxides would go layered onto a grey background - I used Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Black Soot and Broken China....they're not as bright as I thought but I don't mind the effect. Some of the sponging looked a bit like the workings of a clock - so I added a fussy cut, stamped, embossed watch to my stamped sentiment and to finish added a coiled paperclip as my metal element.
I am posting to CAS Mix Up - Layered Stencils, Stamping and Heat Embossing. Also The Male Room challenge #71 - Use Metal and Anything Goes at Seize the Birthday.  Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

I spent my birthday money and bought a new die set - it was worth it too.  I made this male card using a watercolour background created with Brushos to display the lovely pattern of the die cut on my white top panel  I used a scrap of the background to stamp my sentiment and edged it with ink. I layered the panel on blue to match and to finish foam mounted my sentiment and added some 'technology' in the form of gear die cuts to finish my card.
I am posting to The Male Room #70 theme challenge - Anything Goes with option on Technology, to Seize the Birthday - Anything Goes, to Less is More #348 - Watercolour challenge and finally to Darnell's NBUS #12 challenge - new dies. Thanks for taking a peek
