Two cards featuring Birds

I have quite a few bird stamps so the hardest part for this
was to decide which bird to use.... finally I picked Stampabilities  House Mouse one - I Don't Do Bugs.

I made a Christmas card for the first one
  • Stamped the bird in Versafine Vintage Sepia on a scrap of white card, watercoloured it with Distress Inks and fussy cut it out without the legs -  I wanted the bird to stand upright
  • Used the same in to stamp the fence post masking off the bits I didn't want but included the legs, then watercoloured it too with DI
  • Use a snow slope mask I blended Stormy Sky DI for the sky
  • With the mask still in place I stamped the trees - Crafty Individuals set 257, using Rustic Wilderness DI, then blended some Weathered Wood DI for the shadows
  • Lastly I stamped the Kaisercraft sentiment (Christmas Mini set) and added a fine red card border

Second card is a Friendship card... and thought this sentiment (Kaisercraft - Friendship Sentiments) went really well with the whole image and as you can see I didn't use all of the stamp image
  • Stamped most of the image with Smokey Grey Versafine and watercoloured with Distress Inks and trimmed the panel to a square
  • Matted the panel with grey and then pink card onto a white square card
  • Stamped the sentiment in black Versafine and clear embossed, then die cut it with Spellbinder circle die and trimmed the bottom edge.

Twofer Cards featuring Sunshine

Just in time to play along the June Twofer Card Challenge #39 - Sunshine -
I have used a little cloudy sun stamp from Sheena's Sea View Collection

For my first card I stamped the sun on a white card panel and also the yacht from the same set, then masked and watercoloured the sea and sky line with Distress Inks and then the yacht and sun.  It was a bit bare so I stamped the island palm trees .  To finish, stamped the sentiment and framed the panel with navy blue edge on a white card.

My second card was a totally scene creation to go with my die cut bicycle from my stash.... used the sun stamp and masked off the sun and stamped the clouds again and  watercolourws the sky.  I used a texture stamp for the ground and watercoloured it too.  Then stamped on the trees and grass.  I computer generated the sentiment and attached the panel to a light brown card with darker brown border.

Two Cards Featuring Cupcakes

This month at Twofer Card Challenge

I am nearly to the deadline for my post... one got slightly distracted finishing my latest afghan square instead of completing my second card.....!!!
I've made a Birthday card and an Invitation... here in Australia it is the Cancer Council Big Morning Tea event so hence my card.

Stamped and silver heat embossed my Cupcake on matt silver card so I could fussy cut out the patty paper and then again in blue and pink glitter card and clear embossed for the cupcake icing....then I glued on some micro beads on matching colours.  In my stash I found this cupcake designer paper, lucky it was similar colours to my cupcakes but a bit short so I attached a strip of the pink glitter card.  To finish I added a die cut sentiment cut from aqua metallic card and attached the panel to a white card.

\

On my desk I had this white dry embossed panel and thought to use it for my card front.. stamped on the sentiments and small pink cancer ribbon and watercoloured the embossed sections with Pink Distress Ink.  Stamped and fussy cut the cupcake and covered the top with texture paste and then lots of glitter and coloured the patty paper pink.  Stamped and fussy cut the cancer ribbon and coloured that too with pink Distress Ink and attached the cake with foam tape, and then the panel to a pink card.

Thanks for visiting... have a Wonderful Creative day... cheers

Two cards featuring Leaves

Time to share my two cards featuring Leaves...
I chose to use a die cut leaf sprig

  • With this longer die cut I decided to make a slim card
  • Die cut two leaf sprigs and used Distress Inks to loosely watercolour them
  • On matching green card I used the negative of the die cut to add a gold embossed sprig to the background
  • Die cut a decorative label and stamped and gold embossed the sentiment, then blended shabby shutters DI around the edge
  • Layered the panel on dark green to add a frame, assembled the elements and added a few gold gel pen dots

  • Again as the die cut is long I decided to use them as a pretty frame for the sentiment and made a square card.
  • Die cut four leaf sprigs and used Distress Oxide smooching to add the colours
  • On a square white panel I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Clair - Tulip red and heat embossed with Gold Pearl EP
  • Folded picked raspberry card to create the square card and attached all the elements...finishing off with a few White Nuvo Crystal Drop spots

I am playing along with

Two Daisy Cards

The Twofer Card Challenge for March is Open to Your Choice.. so I have chosen  Daisy die cuts

My first card I used the die cut printing technique they are challenging over at CAS Mix Up March Watercolour challenge.... only for me I used Versamark and white embossed the prints on a green smooched background from my stash - then die cut another in white card and to match the white I also white embossed the flower and then used green embossing pen and clear EP on the stem....I added yellow embossing pen to the flower centre and embossed it too.  To finish I stamped and silver embossed the sentiment and counted with foam tape.

For my second card I die cut 5 daisies and watercoloured the centres with Distress Ink and trimmed off the stems.  I stamped my lady in a hat image in black and watercoloured with DI.  Then arranged the elements on a red card and added a purple border to the stamped panel

I really like both card, and the second I left with the stamps' sentiment thinking you could add any occasion sentiment inside
So happy you popped over to my blog - have a Wonderful Creative weekend.

Two Cards featuring Flowers

Sharing today some garden flowers that are blooming at present... Beehive Ginger, and hanging baskets of begonias.
And it's time for the first 2021 Twofer Card Challenge of the year - #34 - Flowers .......  right up my alley
AND they're celebrating the fourth year of challenges  - well done Darnell and your design team

Today I've chosen to use a flower die on both my cards - birthday and get well cards

For my birthday card I die cut the flower on white card and used a brush to apply some Versamark to the petals and added peony scarlet Magical Micas with a light spray of water - I did the same to the flower centre using a tiny dots stamp and Versamark and gold Perfect Pearls.  I watercoloured the stem with Distress Ink.  Next I created the pink background - stamping Picked Raspberry DO using bubble wrap.  I die cut a stitched rectangle in matching pink card and used an oriental script stamp and Versamark with gold Perfect Pearls, the stamped and white embossed the sentiment.

For something different for my Get Well card I used a long slim design using three die cut flowers - tops only from an Alcohol Ink background and then the stems from a green AI piece.  I used the bubble wrap to add black ink to the flower centres and heat embossed with black EP.  Next I die cut the vase from vellum and added some detail with Iced Spruce DI....then stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and die cut the label shape to fit.  Lastly I assembled all the elements with foam tape on a cream dry embossed background.

I am also playing along with The Flower Challenge #52 - Heat or Dry Embossing --  I have used both heat and dry embossing on my Get Well card
I appreciate your visit and have a wonderful week with some creative time

Two Cards Featuring Stars

Today for my two cards for the November Twofer Card Challenge #33 - STARS  --- I have used both a die and a stencil and created two Christmas cards.....
....  as per the "Twist" Darnell has allowed for those of us catching up on our Christmas cards.

I used a starry stencil and gold and pink mists to create the background...it bled a little but I'm ok with that.... found a matching stripped DP and some darker metallic card - where I used the star die to cut four shapes to place along one edge... for the sentiment I used a strip of ribbon with gold lettering, then assembled the card with foam tape behind the stars.

On my second card I used white texture paste through the stencil then when that was dry spritzed with gold mist.  Found some patterned gold wrapping paper and used a torn edge die to cut this for a border.  I die cut a pale gold metallic star with the small star die and used the larger die to create a star outline.  To finish I die cut a sentiment from the gold paper.

Thanks for stopping by my blog   ---   have a Happy Day and stay safe
