"** HAPPY NEW YEAR**"

My Very Best Wishes for a Wonderful New Year to Everyone....  Peace and Happiness

Who would think I'd still be making a few Christmas cards... you might say I'm getting a good start for next year but really I'm making myself put the crochet hook down and just finishing off some card WIPs in a pile on my desk and join in a last few challenges for the year

Let's Squash It! challenge #27 - Snowflakes and Stars
Here I've used a Starry border embossing folder (which was a freebie with Simply Cards and Papercrafts mag - Santa Clause is coming to town), and brayered yellow Distress Oxide over them and added some glitter glue

Can You Handle the Pressure December challenge - with a Twist of Snow    and I've used a favourite Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug - Flurries, teamed with some die cut snowflakes and lots of sparkly mist.

Of course candles are always Chrismassy... so this one is for the Christmas Kickstart challenge #69
stamp from STAMPlorations: Christmas candles, silver embossed and watercoloured with Distress Inks
Have a Wonderful New Years Celebration - I'll be pretending I stayed up late to see the new year but most likely I'll be fast asleep,  Enjoy Yours and see you all in the New Year, hugs Robyn

Here are the latest blankets I've finished this week.... just needed ends sewn in and their borders

Happy Birthday

Well once again it's mid month and I'm way behind sharing a few cards.... BUT...   I do have a good excuse, we've had a number of visitors venturing north away from the cold of winter but mostly my MUM is here at the moment... we've not seen each other for 4 years, and it has been absolutely wonderful to spend some precious time together (she's 91) and I can't believe she hopped on a plane by herself to come up here.  We both are crafty people so we've spent a bit of time crocheting....

  • Stamped the flower & leaves (Papermania; Build a Rose set) in smokey greay Versafine and water coloured with Distress Ink, then fussy cut them out
  • Die cut the hexagon from white card (Avery Elle: pierced hexagon)
  • Embossed the hexie with Darice EF - Flower Pod Background and blended Shabby Shutters DO over the raised areas
  • Stamped the sentiment (unknown) with black Versafine on white card strip
  • Folded matching burnt orange card and measured out a larger card shape around the embossed panel
  • Attached all the elements with foam dots

Thanks for stopping by my blog.... hope you're having a wonderful time too,   Cheers Robyn

Hoping Your Day Goes Swimmingly

A MALE card today for the theme at Let's Squash It!!..  challenge #21

  • Used a leafy embossing folder from Couture Creations - Ambrosia.. and embossed white card
  • Smooched blues and greens Distress Oxide inks on my work mat, lightly spritzed with water and laid the embossed panel over the ink, pressed lightly with my hand and did this till I achieved ink coverage to the raised pattern
  • Used coloured pencils to colour two fish from my stash (unknown) that were once stamped in black ink and heat embossed with gold EP, fussy cut them out
  • Attached some thin strips of green card to the side  and trimmed the panel to fit a white card
  • Stamped sentiment from Sheena Douglass Sea View Collection, with Versamark and used Sizzix Fir Tree embossing powder, on a strip of vellum... you couldn't see it on the background then so I added a strip of white card behind and attached it and the fish with foam tape

Thanks for stopping by my blog... have a wonderful creative weekend... cheers Robyn

Hello, my lovely friend

Running late as usual... with my May card for the

I'm also joining in the fun at

Rummaging through my huge collection of scraps and offcuts, I selected these two pieces just because the colours blended and I like the fairy strip.
I used three embossing folders
  • the long thin one from a Damask Rose set,  I smooched it with broken china DO and then embossed the edge
  • then embossed the two PP scraps along the top right side with the Kaisercraft Liberty EF - I put the folder through at an angle and then smoothed some of the lower embossing with the flat side of my scoring tool
  • glued these to card and trimmed to fit a white card
  • from my die cut butterfly stash I chose a large butterfly and embossed it with Cuttlebug Textile EF.... then highlighted the raised areas with white marker
  • attached it along with a small die cut butterfly and flower in shine soft blue metallic card and finished with stamped sentiment - Jillibean Soup - Flower bloom set
Thanks for stopping  by my blog... have a Wonderful week,    cheers Robyn

Crazy Bird Notecard

So today (Fridays) I meet with some scrapbooking friends... where I make cards instead... suppose I was feeling a little 'crazy' today... and stamped some TH Crazy Birds and zany flowers from Stamps to Inspire - Polka Doodles - Summertime.

I created an embossed background using a Hexagonal 3D embossing folder from Practical Publishing.
The impression came out fantastic... but I thought to vamp it up - so smooched Celestial Copper metallic ink from Tsukneko over the raised surface and run it though the Cuttlebug again...  more interest added with blending Speckled Egg Distress Oxide over the raised surface.  Then arranged my stamped, watercoloured, fussy cut elements, on the panel and drew on the stems with Sharpie black marker  and attached to a green card.

I am playing along with Let's Squash It! challenge #19 - Without Geometry, Life is Pointless.
Thanks for stopping by my blog,  have a Wonderful day,     Cheers Robyn

NOT Another Birthday

Some quiet moments before our NRL team the Cowboys play their match....  just enough for me to finish this card and post it, for the Let's Squash It!! challenge #18 - Emboss/Deboss

Felt a wee bit lazy after I embossed my panel and found this way old stamped image in my stash...
  • Jo inspired me to use some of those border EF we all have... I selected these two different ones and cream card and flipped both once and the diamond one a second time for my rows of embossed/debossed patterned panel
  • Blended Distress Ink twisted citron around the edge and attached the panel to a blue card.
  • I used coloured pencils to colour the frazzled lady image, trimmed the panel and layered it with lime green card then fixed it to the card
  • To finish I generated the sentiment on the computer, stuck to white card and then onto the card

The embossing folders are from Papercraft Essential - Totally Tropical (diamond one) and the floral is from Australian Simply Cards - Floral Flutter
Thanks for stopping by my blog  --   have a Wonderful weekend,    Cheers Robyn

Happy Birthday

Firstly I must tell you we have had a reprieve from the heat with a few days of rain spilling 2 inches of rain and bring some cloudy overcast coooooler days, so everything including myself, is feeling refreshed.

So as promised I'm back with another card for the Let's Squash It! challenge #20 Emboss/Deboss  and this time I've used the same embossing folder

Recently a friend passed on some unwanted items and this EF was included...no name, but it lay on my desk and I just thought to see if I could run it through the Cuttlebug both corners with the EF flipped
  • Embossed/debossed the white card.... and seeing that some of the debossing was a bit flattened I took out my old embossing stylus and placed the card back in the EF and went over the flattened parts with the stylus
  • Using Distress Oxide bundled sage I blended colour over the whole panel, so the top half highlighted the raised pattern and the bottom left it white, I also blended some DO mown lawn around the edge
  • Die cut some leaves and flowers from Sizzix Flunky Floral #2 set and added some colour with Distress Ink fossilised amber and spiced marmalade, to the flowers
  • Stamped and gold embossed the sentiment from Dark Room Door Happy Birthday set, on strip of black card
  • Attached all the elements to a white card and added the green leafy cutouts too

Thanks for stopping by my blog,   have a Wonderful Creative day,

Cheers Robyn

Wishing You a BERRY Happy Birthday

A bit of fun with Embossing Folders this afternoon for the

Let's Squash It!  challenge 18 - Emboss/Deboss

Firstly I selected that very old Cuttlebug EF - Swiss Dots and embossed on white card.  Then I flipped it to the debossed side and used a brayer to colour the whole surface with Distress Oxide: kitsch flamingo.

Then I embossed the panel coloured side up with Rose Leaf EF from Ultimate Crafts.   Then coloured the raised leaves and berries with Distress Oxides: bundled sage, mowed lawn, festive berries.  Used scraps of paper as masks to try and keep the pink areas cleanish.

The printed a sentiment on the computer and attached to the panel with a red card layer and fixed this to a white card

Then I read the brief properly and I was supposed to use the same EF.... oh well, thought I'd still join in the fun and I'll have another look at my EFs and create another card.... sorry Jo and Gail
Thanks for stopping by my blog,   enjoy your day,   Cheers Robyn

  • First I dug out the Darice Brick EF and used Distress Oxide in Gathered Twigs and Bundled Sage blended over the panel

  • Found a mini spider stamp and a tiny ants stamp and stamped these with black Versafine
