Happy Birthday

Well once again it's mid month and I'm way behind sharing a few cards.... BUT...   I do have a good excuse, we've had a number of visitors venturing north away from the cold of winter but mostly my MUM is here at the moment... we've not seen each other for 4 years, and it has been absolutely wonderful to spend some precious time together (she's 91) and I can't believe she hopped on a plane by herself to come up here.  We both are crafty people so we've spent a bit of time crocheting....

  • Stamped the flower & leaves (Papermania; Build a Rose set) in smokey greay Versafine and water coloured with Distress Ink, then fussy cut them out
  • Die cut the hexagon from white card (Avery Elle: pierced hexagon)
  • Embossed the hexie with Darice EF - Flower Pod Background and blended Shabby Shutters DO over the raised areas
  • Stamped the sentiment (unknown) with black Versafine on white card strip
  • Folded matching burnt orange card and measured out a larger card shape around the embossed panel
  • Attached all the elements with foam dots

Thanks for stopping by my blog.... hope you're having a wonderful time too,   Cheers Robyn

  1. What a privilege to be able to still craft with your mother, Robyn. Love your card - it's a lovely shape and I love that embossed background for the gorgeous flower

  2. How lovely to have your Mum there crafting alongside you Robyn, hope you both enjoy the rest of her visit! Lovely hexagon card, the folder makes the perfect grounding for that big blowsy flower!

  3. How lovely to have your mom come visit, Robyn. She's quite the jet setter at that age - brilliant. Your card is gorgeous and I love that embossing folder patter which you've highlighted so prettily with ink. Have a great time with mom. Big hugs, Jo x

  4. LOVE your card Robyn, and how wonderful that your 91 year old mother made the trip to visit...ENJOY every minute with her!! Hugs. :0)

  5. Your Mother looks and sounds amazing! Look at her go with the crochet hook. Robyn, you are one lucky lady.
I don't know what happened, but I have not received any of you posts for a good while now. I guess I will resubscribe. Don't have a clue what the problem has been.

Very pretty card - embossing with gold and then painting is new for me but I find I really enjoy doing it. Your painting is wonderful -- can't get over how well you fussy cut that flower out!

Well I am off to see what all I missed on your blog!
    Sandy xx

  6. Your Mum doesn't look 91!! How wonderful to have her staying with you and able to spend time together, especially hobby time. Beautiful card Robyn. LOVE the shape and your gorgeous bloom. xx
