Every flower is a soul.....

What a lovely week we've been having here with some well needed rain overnight, so it's cooler...and I'm at my desk having fun this week with backgrounds.  This one I made with inked cling wrap - I applied 3 shades of Distress Ink in strips to create a landscape, spritzed with water and 'smooched' the wrap onto my white card - love how the 'sky' turned out with white space for clouds.  Then I stamped on some 'flower' tops and leaves and used a negative mask so I could sponge Distress Ink the the blooms and leaves and drew in the stems.  To finish I added a dragonfly and a stamped sentiment. I am posting to CAS Mix Up March challenge - I used stamping, smooching and sponging. Also to Rubber Dance Theme challenge - Everything Spring and Colour Throw Down ctd435 - colours; orange, yellow and blue.  Thanks for taking a peek

Thinking of You

I've enjoyed a lazy day today and slowly this afternoon this card came together - so  slowly that I've missed posting it to the Colour Throwdown CTD232 challenge anyway I've used the soft colours and the layout at Retro Sketches rs#54 .... I'm not liking the colours on my new camera though mmmm have to ask my son about it.  Thanks for taking a peek.

With Love

Shopping Our Stash Challenge 91: Tag it- create a tag or use one on your project!

Hi from my tiny table, sheltering in here (the caravan) from the terrible wind outside at least the rain has eased....and I'm so pleased to have found some mojo - today the colours and sketch came together for me and I've have this shabby kinda tag card.  Used the layout at Retro Sketches rs#53 and the palette from Color Throwdown CTD231. And over at Shopping Our Stash #91they asked for a tag so I used a tag as my focal point and dressed it up with some handmade flowers and lace.  Thanks for taking a peek

Colour Throwdown, i(heart)2 stamp

nov2012sketch

My card today is really fresh and again it evolved - didn't start out in my head like this but I'm very happy with the result.  I used the nice simple layout from i(heart)2 stamp sketch for November and the palette from Colour Throwdown CTD217.  Thanks for taking a peek

the Deconstructed sketche, Colour Throwdown challenges

Enjoying a few sunny days on my own here in Perth while hubby is away working. Today I've finished off this Friends card using the Deconstructed sketch #68 and the colours from last weeks Colour Thowdown CTD208. I made a whoopsie with the white die cut - when I ran it through my cuttlebug the die had paper cutouts in it from the last time I used it and hence they didn't cut right through so I decided it looked fine and go ahead and use it. Thanks for taking a peek

Colour throw down, the Shabby Tea Room

Oh I do like the colours this week for the Colour Throwdown CTD177 - all bright and cheery and then the Shabby Tea Room challenge Week #99 - 'Love is in the Air' - a card with a Valentine's theme and including a mail or postage element - my card evolved into this when I had to decided on a sentiment to add.  I was experimenting with my embossing folders and inking up the raised side and brayering over the card on top to create the background...and here we go my card!!!  Thanks for taking a peek.

Lily Pad Card Exchange, the Deconstructed Sketch #30

Well after quite a few weeks I'm back at my desk....not sure if the mojo was with me but as the Lily Pad Card Exchange was in it's last few hours I thought I'd give it a go....and also took the opportunity to use the sketch from Deconstructing Jens challenge. Not my colour range but you have to step out of your comfort zone sometimes... :-)  Thanks for taking a peek

Colour throw down #151

The colour throw down challenge was to use rainbow colours for you inspiration.  I created the rainbow using my Twinkling H2Os - I love the iridescent effect and the way the colours ran together. I'm always snapping photos of sunrises, sunsets and rainbows - every one of them is different and gone so quickly.
