Happy Birthday
Today I am finishing off a couple cards I started over the weekend - you know those ones you're not sure if they work or not, so come back later. This is my Black and White and One other colour - Pink for the Rubber Dance July challenge and or Wings/Feathers... I dry embossed the back panel and used Hickory Smoke Distress Ink to brayer over the reverse side...so my embossing is recessed. Then I stamped my sentiment on white card and added a fine pink layer behind. To finish I added to die cut swirls in black and a pink feathered glittery mask. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Lighthouse Tag
Today I've been messing about with the good old wax paper technique.... I used photographic card for my glossy card and it works real well. Then I added Distress Oxides to see how they'd take to the gloss card - swiping it on doesn't blend very well so I smooched with the ink on a baby wipe, and used a stitched tag die to cut my shape. Then I stamped the bottom half of my lighthouse stamp and then masked out the lighthouse and yacht and stamped the seagulls at the top. Next I stamped the lighthouse and yacht on white card and coloured these with pencil and fussy cut them out and attached them to my tag. To finish I used white gel pen to colour the seagulls. I am playing along at Rubber Dance June challenge - basically using the colour palette and the tag option. Also using my tag for the Simon Says Monday challenge - Anything but a card, and Southern Girls Challenge Team Lou - Anything Goes. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Be Happy, Be Bright, Be You
Finally I decided the sentiment to add to my Mixed Media Artwork... inspired by the Bright colours of the Rubber Dance May challenge - Dark Red, Lime Green and Violet... I was also able to add some Metal embellishments. I created my background with Distress Oxides in Violet and Red and stamped on some Green feather trees and scattered Purple circles. I stamped some feather trees and a bird and cut them out and and coloured the both with DO. Added a strip of designer paper and attached my metal 'flowers'. and finished off layering the panel of purple and red card.

Faith, Trust and Fairy Dust
Some playing around with flower stamps from different sets today combined with Distress Oxide ink... in Yellow, Pink and Green. First I wet the water colour card with dilute salt solution and then added spots of pink DO... they spread in a flower shape (saw someone on YouTube doing this with acrylic paint - worked lots better, but I did get some effect). then while the card was still wet I stamped on various other flowers and some stems, I went over them with the same ink when the panel was dry and added black snowflake centers to the yellow ones and white gel pen the the pinks. Earlier I had stamped my fairym, coloured and fussy cut her minus the wings and also stamped her wings on acetate and cut them out.. added Kindyglitz. I positioned my fairy in her garden and stamped on my sentiments and some starry fairy dust. I am playing along with the colour palette at Rubber Dance April Colour challenge, Shopping Our Stash SOS#351- Mythical Magical theme, and also Southern Girls challenge - Triple 'F' Team Lou challenge; Fairies, Fantasy or Flowers. I do enjoy a moonlight stroll in the garden...
Just had a morning of fun with this little artwork.... some stamps, a die cut, and inky circles, and the colour palette all came together - I just had to include a cat from the photo inspiration too.
I masked off the moon and used Distress Inks - Hickory Smoke and Wilted Violet, for the background then stamped on my 'florals' in black ink, and gave the moon a shimmer with some Perfect Pearls. I sponged over some purple on the round flowers and added scattered circles with the inked end of a pen. To finish I layered my panel on purple and black card, used foam dots to attach my card and attached my hand written sentiment. I am playing along at the Rubber Dance March challenge. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your Easter

Create.....
Well I have found some time for colouring and stamping this weekend - in between cooking up heaps of bananas ... muffins, loaves and slices, also two lots in the dehydrator. Here I have a small artwork using the colour palette at Rubber Dance Stamp challenge for January - I was also able to make it a bit 'Vintage' for the theme. I water washed the background in DOX and stamped the images in Distress Ink and Distress Oxides... Then added my Sentiment in DOX and finished with a handmade paper flower. I am also posting to Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Add a Sentiment. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

with Friends ... Life is Good
This is the most colourful, bright artwork I've done in ages and it's not a card.... just trying my hand at a more informal style - I admire lots of other artists work but tend to make mine more formally layed out.... I'm liking it anyway. I've used the colour palette at Rubber Dance July Challenge: Yellow, Purple, Magenta. I had the background panel in my stash and of course hadn't used it because it was too bright. I just stamped my bird image in black and lightly highlighted the bodies in white gel pen. Then I stamped on the two sentiments and the dotty edge and to finish decided to layer it a little differently on matching card. Thanks for taking a peek

Breathe out ..... Relax
Feeling a bit weird at the moment... been to the dentist this morning as I broke a tooth and have had that removed and my new denture put in ... now the anesthetic is wearing off too. But being at my desk making this card has kept my mind busy and off the tooth.

Summer.....
Each month I'm always wanting to play along with the CAS Watercolour Card challenge and I always seem to leave it till the last minute - determined not to miss out today with only a few hours till close. So I've made a 'summer' card - I chose to use colours in yellow and blues to represent the sand and the beach - a favourite place to spend our summer vacations as a youngster.... now it's not a problem we live in the tropics on the coast. I swiped my Distress Ink pads on my plastic mat and spritzed with water then smooched my panel in the ink... of course one never knows how the water and paint will react with the card but I was really happy with the blotchy effect. I flicked a few drops of glitzy orange ink across the card too ... then stamped on my palm tree silhouette. I decided to die cut a bicycle and make up a beach sign post to finish the card. I am also posting to Rubber Dance challenge - Theme is Summer Holidays, Happy Little Stampers CAS June challenge - Smoosh, Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies June challenge, and Simon Says Monday challenge - Vacation and Victorine Originals challenge #9- photo inspiration. Simon Says: Lets Take A Vacation

Hello
Hi and hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend...lots of sunshine and nice temperature here.... my card today bears my Tag for the Tag You're It!! #71 challenge inspired by Lindsey. - the beautiful contrast with the red and white really caught my eye and of course I just love flowers so there was my image. First I cut my tag with one end of Scalloped Label die and lengthened it a bit and rounded off the ends. Then stamped my image on a smaller rectangle of card and coloured it with Brushos and smooched the edge in red. I stamped the sentiment and hand cut around it so I could 3D mount it to the corner. I usually leave my tag as is, but today decided to mount it to a card.... so I die cut a dotty strip to a white top panel and layered a red card underneath then attached my tag. I do like how it has turned out. I am also posting to Rubber Dance Theme challenge - Rule of Three.... I have incorporated three layers - a red background, a die cut top panel and a tag, also three flowers on my stamped image. Thanks for taking a peek
