Happy Mothers' Day

Today my stamping friend Vikki found this gorgeous card at Down Under Direct Inspirations and suggested we make a card.  So yes we did!! Here's my first Mothers' Day card and I wasn't planning to do one of those today.  I chose to back highlight mine with pink, add a few gems and a posy of flowers. I'm pretty happy with the result.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Birthday card, Shopping Our Stash

Hi today...1st November - where has the year gone.
Mum's birthday next week so I've made this card for her....I'm really liking it a lot - no colour palette or layout just my ideas, BUT it fits with the challenge at Shopping Our Stash with their challenge this week SOS75    Flowers in 3D   I have some of these lovely ribbon flowers in different colours and just love them, my red one really makes a statement on mums card. SOS is a new blog I've found and looking back at some of their challenges I think it'd be a great idea to play along with their different ideas...I'm seeing some really really nice cards too.    Thanks for taking a peek...

Sketchbook Saturday, Dynamic Duos

Smiling broadly.......'cause I'm sitting here in Townsville in Vikki's new craft room with our friends Estelle and (other) Vikki.....we all rocked up with loads of card, inks, stamps etc. yesterday afternoon and worked away  till round 1:30pm ,- chatting and catching up with our news and are back at  it this morning. Think I might post  some of the cards our friends make too as they don't have blogs.....see you later today.

For my card this morning I've used Dynamic Duos DD#23 colours for last week (again we  missed the deadline) and also the layout for Sketchbook Saturday #80...of course we are sharing our supplies and seeing as I only have a few inks and card with me I get to use Vikki's dies and embossing folders....nice for a change.
I'm liking my soft colours and the contrast..
Thanks for taking a peek

MojoMonday 258

Hi there from sunny Perth, Australia....this morning Skyping friend Vikki had me on the go early (there's a 2 hour time difference between us) and wella!! it's worked, my card came together quite well and I'm happy with fresh colours and my take on the MojoMonday #258 sketch. I decided to use die cuts already in my stash and not make any new ones and also to use an embossed background. Now that I'm all fired up lets see if I can come up with another card ....thanks for taking a peek

the Deconstructed sketche, Colour Throwdown challenges

Enjoying a few sunny days on my own here in Perth while hubby is away working. Today I've finished off this Friends card using the Deconstructed sketch #68 and the colours from last weeks Colour Thowdown CTD208. I made a whoopsie with the white die cut - when I ran it through my cuttlebug the die had paper cutouts in it from the last time I used it and hence they didn't cut right through so I decided it looked fine and go ahead and use it. Thanks for taking a peek

Mothers' Day card

This card is for my hubbys mum...it's very similar to the one I posted last week for my mum, just changed the colours.  I do really like making those flowers - you can really match them up with your colour scheme and these ones are a bit sparkly as I used my twinkling H2Os. Thanks for taking a peek - enjoy your weekend.

The Play Date Cafe colour challenge 120

I've made this card especially for my mother-in-laws birthday next month (trying to get ahead with my cards). I truly love the colours for this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge #120. I'm also having fun making my own flowers to suit the colours of the various challenges.  A card of Andrea Ewens of Ewen Style - has also inspired me -  her feminine cards are beautiful.  Thanks for taking a peek.

Less is More challenge

Hello fellow card makers.....my next card today is for the Less is More challenge - to use the colour Aqua as the feature of our card.....which I've just discovered is closed so I'm a little late.....
Anyway on this card I've used some layering....seen other creative ladies using this technique and thought to have a go myself.....so I've layer the flower cut with the Die-namics Upsey Daisies die and also used the Spellbinders Edgeabilities Classic Petal die to create the border effect. Thanks for taking a peek.

Birthday card

I was recently asked by a workmate to make two birthday cards for her 80 year old friend... so here are my cards. I am pretty pleased with how they both turned out. Thanks for taking a peek.

Colour throw down, the Shabby Tea Room

Oh I do like the colours this week for the Colour Throwdown CTD177 - all bright and cheery and then the Shabby Tea Room challenge Week #99 - 'Love is in the Air' - a card with a Valentine's theme and including a mail or postage element - my card evolved into this when I had to decided on a sentiment to add.  I was experimenting with my embossing folders and inking up the raised side and brayering over the card on top to create the background...and here we go my card!!!  Thanks for taking a peek.

Deconstructed Sketch 35

Hi again, here's my take on the Deconstructed sketch for this week. I changed my mind a number of times with the colours but am now happy with the effect...I have a pack of papers that aren't very user friendly so covering them up seems the best solution. Thanks for taking a peek
