Our Beautiful World - Outside

Outside in our backyard....we have this swing hanging from the Mango tree....the littlies love it and it swings real high because the ropes are so long.
And now that we have had some rain the Mangoes trees are showing their blush of pink as the new growth appears.
And here are my Beehive Gingers tucked away under the big old Mango tree.
Thanks for taking a peek

Our Beautiful World

BRICKS....
is the theme this week at OBW 116
Thomas Alexander O'Donahoo my 3rd Great Grandfather died in 1831 in Tasmania, Australia.  This is what remains of his grave alone on a hill on land he used to farm - huge dead tree and all, it overlooks Maria Island off the east coast of Tasmania. I visited the site two years ago and was amazed how I felt about our first English relative to arrive in Australia.
Thanks for stopping by....

OBW 103 ~ TWO is better than one (OBW 2nd anniversary)

Congratulations to the OBW team on their 2nd Anniversary.
Of course I just had to catch a photo of our two boys - Arthur and Henry
found them stretched out on our bed snoozing
I was also fortunate enough this week to spot two Pale-Headed Rosella and although I couldn't get close to them I was able to zoom in afterwards for this pic...then I noticed
we had two more sitting up on the TV antenna.
Thanks for taking a peek

Our Beautiful World

OBW 102
"TINY"
I wasn't sure how my photos would turn out as my good camera is yet to be returned.
Saying goodbye to hubby this morning and the sprinkler system had finished watering my pots and I noticed all the tiny water droplets, so thought I'd see if I could capture them...not too bad!!

Our Beautiful World

I was so inspired by the dainty little Lily of the Valley bells that Ros shared that I thought I'd share again these gorgeous, biig pink bells of the Fraser Island Creeper

Our Beautiful World

Week 99 at Our Beautiful World - where Kirsty along with her team hosts beautiful photo sharing.  Manuela has suggested this weeks theme
FUN
My series of photos today are of our gorgeous granddaughter... having such a fun time shopping with her mum and me.  She wanted to be independent and so we got her to be in charge of the shopping basket - she thought she was so special and soon got the hang of guiding it down the aisles...of course we had to stop at the books.... and then the toys....what a Fun time she had.

This is my last post as a team member with Our Beautiful World, I have decided to step down as we have lots going on in our lives in the next 6 months.  I would like to thank Kirsty, Ros and Manuela for their friendship and inspiration and welcome Mandy to the team. It's been loads of fun and I've certainly learnt to look at my camera in a different way.  Now pop over to the OBW blog and visit the team to see their Fun photos and maybe you have some pics to share.
Thanks for visiting my blog...enjoy your weekend, cheers

Our Beautiful World

Hello and welcome to my OBW post for this week  Week 98 at Our Beautiful World and today's theme has been suggested by Ros
BROKEN
My photos today are of an old broken concreters wheel barrow - it's been hiding under a tree in our yard for the past 5 years after we brought it home from the dump.  Just waiting there for me to come home and unearth it.  It's rusted in the bottom and the legs are all rickety - I think it's had a good useful life and I'm planning for it to relax and display some beautiful flowering plants in my garden.

Thanks for taking a peek at my photos, Do you have any to share, we'd love to see them over at Our Beautiful World and while you're there please check out the other team members photo posts this week. Cheers

Our Beautiful World

Week 97 at Our Beautiful World
Kirsty has suggested this weeks theme
SOUNDS OF SILENCE
At any time for me, a quiet stroll along a beach in the early morning or late afternoon,
is Amazing, Revitalizing, Calming...even with natures sounds around you, it's easy to absorb the Quiet - Sounds of Silence and be at Peace.
How serene is this beach lagoon photo taken at Port Smith, Western Australia as the sunset?? ...
The tide is well out and the wet mudflats make it an easy walk to watch the amazing sunset....
In the morning at the same lagoon, this family enjoy the quiet and a spot of fishing.
Thanks for taking a peek at my photos, now please pop over to OBW blog and view the team member photos for this theme, AND we would love you to join in and share your photos as well.
The team is also seeking new team members so please click here to read the details

Our Beautiful World

Our Beautiful World -Week 96 ; my turn to suggest the theme..
another famous movie line by Tom Hanks in
Forrest Gump
'Life was like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get.'

Of course I just couldn't resist posting a box of chocolates - these Roses ones are popular in Australia and are everywhere this week with it being Mothers' Day today.
Strawberry Creme might be my favourite but I do like nut centers, oh bother I like them all.
These chocolate pieces will be a surprise when you eat them as the centers are licorice.
I tried thinking of 'life' and the unexpected and with all the Mothers' Day flowers about I noticed these Begonias...the buds are flat but what a lovely surprise when they open

Then I thought about people and as I've just been visiting my mum we took some photos of the four generations....Here's mum Joan, her daughter Robyn, her grand daughter Jacalyn and great grand daughter Sophie - we're all first born in our family and I don't think there's any great family trait.
The team at Our Beautiful World would love you to join in our photo posts, so please visit the blog and check out the other team members photos...
