A Peaceful Place to Rest and Relax

Thankfully we have had some rain this past week and with a good soaking surprises appear in the garden... found this glorious Bromeliad poking it's bright, vivid red and purple flower in amongst all the green.

From my stash of pre-stamped images I found this lovely beach scene, so attacked it with my sponge and Distress Inks to create a soft morning sky, then coloured the image with pencils and added some white gel pen to the waves.  I die cut a stitched frame for the image and attached to a blue ribbed card.  I'm leaving off the sentiment for now as this could be used for various occasions... get well, travel, male.
I am playing along with the Just Add Ink challenge #491 - inspired by the soft colours and the beach scene.
Thanks for stopping by my blog  --- have a Happy Day

Spring Tulips

My birthday is the end of September... which represents to me my birthstone - Sapphire, and the beginning of Spring (living in the southern hemisphere).... so my colours are rich blue for the stone and bright yellow for the season.  I stamped my tulips in weathered wood Distress Ink so the outline would be subdued.  Then watercoloured my image with Distress Inks. I used some layering to bring out the colours with yellow and white and a blue card.  Die cut my image with a circle and mounted it to a die cut lacy doiley and to finish added a ribbon bow... I left off a sentiment, so I could use the card for Any Occasion.  I am playing along with Power Poppy Power and Spark October challenge - Motifs from your Birthday.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

Sending you Sunshine, Laughter and Hugs

You might not believe this, but this gold embossed sunflower has been in my stash waiting patiently for years to be coloured and made into a card.... I mean before I started blogging in 2012, so up to 5 years prior to that.... and I was holding my breath as I wasn't sure how the white card would take to being watercoloured.   And isn't it funny how we all think "Sunshine" when we think of Sunflowers - they make me happy.  So I just used Brushos to paint my flower and added a slight green grey for the background, then used a marker to add an edge to the painted section, so it created a part of a frame.  Then I finished with a gold embossed sentiment and decided on a pale green card.  I am playing along with CAS Watercolour August challenge - Sunflowers.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend.
