Just Because...

Sharing a pic today of the fabulous 'Begonia Rex Swan' -  I got for Mothers' Day   -  isn't she gorgeous

I've been finishing off some UFOs in my desk this weekend ....
.. Stamped and pale gold embossed my flowers and used the matching die to cut them out... then watercoloured them with Distress Inks.  For the background I used my blending brushes to create a spotlight with Distress Oxide ink in Tattered rose for the centre blended with Aged mahogany to the edges. - then a fine mist of water for some splatters.  To finish I added a stamped and white embossed sentiment strip.

Big Hugs

Back this afternoon with another of my cards recently finished and photographed.
For this one I stamped the floral image in opposite corners on a square panel and white embossed it....then watercoloured the images with Distress Oxide inks.  To finish I added a narrow yellow frame onto a white square card and die cut the sentiment in yellow and green card and offset them to give a shadow effect....to finish I added a few drops of white Nuvo crystal drops.

Just for You

I just love the stunning colors and shapes of these beautiful Hibiscus flowers in my garden

Using one of my very old wood mounted stamps today....  what female doesn't love flowers, I surely do....
I stamped the image in grey ink and watercoloured with Distress Inks.  I used a green card and a layer of coral to frame the image and finished off with a stamped and white embossed sentiment on dark green card,

Wishes for You

Well this is definitely my favourite stamp at the moment - I love the poppies and how it inks and stamps... so be warned there are other cards in my WIP pile, coming soon - it's actually not mine it's my friend Vikki's but fingers crossed there will be one coming to my desk soon.

I stamped the image in antique linen DI on white card and then coloured it with my trusty old colouring pencils and stamped on my sentiment (two different stamps).

This is how it looks before the pencils - it's not the one I used but you can see I stamped more than one.

To finish the card I die cut a stitched rectangle and then trimmed the panel to fit inside and then used foam sheet to mount it and then attached to a cream card base.

Here is a close up....

Joy

A little bit of dabbling today with some UFOs on my desk - found this already stamped tag with a whoops where I'd dropped the 'Joy' stamp and got a double image - I quite liked it, so added some flowers and pine leaves... it's colours suited just wonderfully with the challenge board at The Daring Cardmakers December challenge... so I've browns, reds and touch of green, also 'Joy', tag, twine, pinecones, berries and snowflake... so there are quite a few elements from the pic included.  I found some gorgeous rustic red PP and, fussy cut the pine cones, die cut a gold glittery snowflake and cheery red berries from my stash - all arrange onto a brown card.  I am also playing along with Just Us Girls #516 - Wild Card - Anything Goes   AND    Stamping Sensations December challenge - Anything Goes.   Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making

Merry Christmas

Well it's time for a last reminder for the year to come join in the fun at
with our Monoprint technique this month

Using a Poinsettia stencil, I applied red pigment ink to the stencil and then carefully laying it onto white card, used a brayer to get an even print - then removed the stencil and quickly covered with clear embossing powder and heat set it.   Stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and then cut a strip from the panel and used foam sheet to lift it on the red card.  To finish I die cut a poinsettia flower and added gold micro beads to the center.

I also made a second card from the monoprint panel - I cut another strip and this time attached to a white card and cut the front panel with a torn edge die and attached with foam sheet.  Finished the card with a die cut sentiment.

We'd love to see your creations over on the CAS Stencil blog and  there's heaps of fabulous inspiration from our GD Lucie and the design team.

Thinking of You

A clean and simple one layer card today.... I used Distress Inks in mustard seed, spiced marmalade and candied apple on this card.. with a leafy stencil (Kaiserkraft) and a damp baby wipe to get a soft finish.. The stamped my solid leaf (PSX) inked with the DInks and lightly spritzed with water... when dry I partly inked the stamp again with Versamark and heat embossed with gold EP, then fussy cut it out and attached to the card with foam tape.  To finish I stamped the sentiment in black ink

Sending Smiles

Firstly a big CONGRATS to the CAS Watercolour team... celebrating their 3rd Birthday.... there are prizes too - and I'm sure they'd love to see lots of CAS cards this month.
Loll is this months host and the theme is MAPLE LEAF.

On the front panel I used a texture border stamp (Kaiserkraft) with Distress Inks.. antique linen, spiced marmalade, crushed olive and candied apple - over stamping  with a final splattering of Versamark and gold embossing, then I added a strip of gold washi tape and fine strip of red card.  For my Maple Leaf I inked an old wood mounted solid stamp (PSX)  with Distress Inks in mustard seed, spiced marmalade and candied apple lightly spritzed with water and stamped on white card...then fussy cut it out.  I stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and to finish the card, added a strip of gold washi tape to the bottom edge and used foam tape to attached the leaf and sentiment.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy watercolouring
