Well it's time for a last reminder for the year to come join in the fun at
with our Monoprint technique this month
Using a Poinsettia stencil, I applied red pigment ink to the stencil and then carefully laying it onto white card, used a brayer to get an even print - then removed the stencil and quickly covered with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Stamped and gold embossed the sentiment and then cut a strip from the panel and used foam sheet to lift it on the red card. To finish I die cut a poinsettia flower and added gold micro beads to the center.
I also made a second card from the monoprint panel - I cut another strip and this time attached to a white card and cut the front panel with a torn edge die and attached with foam sheet. Finished the card with a die cut sentiment.
We'd love to see your creations over on the CAS Stencil blog and there's heaps of fabulous inspiration from our GD Lucie and the design team.
I am also playing along with Stamping Sensations November challenge - Traditional Christmas Colours - Gold, Red and Green.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making
What an elegant design with that monoprint stenciled panel on the red card base Robyn - your poinsettia is just beautiful with its gloss! The die cut sentiment is perfect layered over your panel on your 2nd card! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Christmas cards, Robyn! Such a beautiful Poinsettia on the first card, and I love that you were able to create 2 cards with your Monoprint panel!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you've enjoyed this month's challenge theme.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, the monoprinted backgrounds look fab. I love the texture from the heat embossing on the first one.
You asked what Mixed Media card I use .... I have the ones from Ranger. Mixed Media cardstock, and the Distress Mixed Media Heavy cardstock. Both are great and can take lots of ink and water. There's also one in the Dylusions range too xx
Two awesome monoprint cards, Robyn! I love the die cut poinsettia with the poinsettia monoprint and the die cut Merry Christmas is beautiful on the other piece!
