So today on my desk you can see I'm making Christmas cards (link to finished cards) with a red cardinal on them - my good friend Vikki gave me a lovely stamp set and kindly die cut me some white birds, so now I have inky fingers from sponging on the colours. I'm still getting used to the new layout of my room and desk, things are still in the same drawers but new location in respect to my desk. See those Note Book thingies at the back, I found them in the move and acquired them from Target when I worked there - they're those boxes used to display stock on the shelves, so when they were no longer needed they walked home with me - I knew I'd find a use for them. On the far right is a stamp I've had for a long time and it is going to sit there till I use it, next to it is the usual pile of "mmmm maybe I could use that for this project" and then I don't. Well that's enough waffle for this week, sorry I didn't get to visit many desks last week - we did enjoy a layback birthday for hubby and got lots of cuddles with gorgeous Sophie, so I'll be making a real effort today...thanks for visiting and hope you're enjoying your week Robyn
A red cardinal on your Christmas cards, how lovely. I live in the Uk but also spend a month or so in Florida every year and we have a red cardinal in the tree in our back yard! They are so lovely to see flying around!

Just had a peek at your finished cards and they are beautiful - I just love Red Cardinals but we don't get them over here sadly. The bokeh effect if wonderful and I shall be following the You Tube link to see how it's done as it's very effective.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week,

Hi Robyn, lovely cards. Such a beautiful bird. Hoping to get a start on my Christmas cards in the next few weeks, that'll be a first for me, lol. Thanks for all the good wishes, they really worked! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #26 xx
ReplyDeleteI often look at those shelf storage things and wonder which lucky person gets to keep them..they speak to me for sure..it's usually diaries and such niceties I see them used for. The stamp must be used..I think it's cute, just a bit of work for multiple cards huh! No doubt you'll tweak and adjust your working circle as you go, but glad it's making you happy!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Christmas cards. Thanks for sharing today. Hope you have a great day and a lovely crafting week to come. Hazel, WOYWW #47 x
ReplyDeleteI love your desk! What wonderful natural light you must have for your work!

The Cardinal Christmas card is striking with the mystical background the bird really pops. I see the slotted ??file folder you mentioned in your comment...looks very useful. Be well Carole #59

Lovely cards. My son always says I should not make any winters Christmas cards, because we live in South Africa, but it's so hard to find summery Christmas images! I am thinking birds could work.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW !

Great desk share this week and that cardinal is so good, I have the die and love it to bits even though they are not Australian birds, they are so pretty. Looks like you have so work to do, this is always good and what a score from Target, good for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting already.

ReplyDeleteI had a peek at the finished card and it's gorgeous, love the colours. How lucky are you getting that storage box thingy, I could fill a hundred of them and still not see the floor (he he). Have a great week.

I love your little storage drawers they are really nice for little bits and bobs that you need to keep handy. I have decided that I will have to start making Christmas cards as I keep seeing everyone else starting their's. Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 35
ReplyDeleteTalk about a tidy desk! It was nice of the storage units to walk home with you, too. ;)

Hi Robyn,
ReplyDeleteThat stamp looks great! I think we need a close-up of it :)
I am not thinking of Christmas cards yet, no way :)
Hi. Thanks for visiting me yesterday. I'm afraid to say that up til Christmas my WOYWW visiting has to be done on the Thursday because I have taken on an extra day with my twinnies but I promise I will still be visiting :-)

Hello!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog and your kind comment! I love your workdesk and you have a great window - lucky you! Seeing your Christmas card brings the reminder that the season is coming although I still haven't begun my Halloween cards yet! Wishing you a happy day!

I went to the page that shows the finished card with the red cardinal. Stunning! When I have a bit more time I'll look at the YouTube thingy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me look over your shoulder.

Hi Robyn, love the desk, and know exactly what you mean about moving things around in relation to your desk. I rearranged a few boxes last week and keep going to the 'old' place for each box!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments

Wow Robyn, those cards are fabulous, love the contrast of the red against grey background. We don't get cardinals here, but we do get robins! And the robin used to be Father Christmas' little messenger when my children were small, keeping a little eye on them to see that they were being good - I used to get at least two months of excellent behaviour out of that hehehe! Happy very late WOYWW :o) Annie C #75
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards and such a neat desk - wish I could work like that. I end up with things all over the desk and floor. Thank you for visiting my blog Anita #50 WOYWW
ReplyDeleteOh Robyn, that red cardinal is beautiful. and the stamp that is not going to be put away until it is used, I can so identify with that, but my desk might be overwhelmed if I played that game.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one who has a pile of 'mmmm maybe I could use that for this project' and then you don't.
Thanks for dropping by my desk.
