Ok so I didn't start out to make three cards, but I was trying out an old technique that I haven't done for years... Inking my shadow stamp with markers (then the new element is spritzing the stamp before stamping - and also the fact that I took the rubber stamp off the wood block and used the Misti to hold the position while I coloured and stamped the image a number of times) then I used a paint brush and lots of water to pick up some scribbled marker and watercoloured in the background ... With my first attempt the stamp came off the Misti and I was a bit off re-positioning it, but it wasn't too bad (first one below). The second one I was being too careful about colouring and not enough water misting (second below), so I had another go and was much happier with that (above). To finish I cut the panel down to fit a white card and stamped my sentiment in black. I am playing along with

I think all of these turned out beautifully, Robyn! Each is subtly different! I find that no two cards will come out alike using this method! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Watercolour!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh ... all three are beautiful Robyn. There isn't much difference between all three and they will all be loved by whomever receives them. Great work with this new-to-you technique. It does take a bit of practice to get comfortable with the amount of water, etc. You did great! xx
ReplyDeleteWow Robyn, these are absolutely gorgeous! These cards bring back some memories for me too when I think of my days of solid rubber stamps and my Tombow markers! All three are beautiful!
