Well when Wendy suggested the theme "WORDS" for this weeks Our Beautiful World challenge - I truly was a blank canvas.
Finally I found I'd taken this photo on a return trip last year and after travelling many many kilometers it seemed very appropriate for us that day - the very extreme distances one can travel in Australia - we'd been travelling between 800 and 900 kms a day. I did actually take photos of each side of the sign post :-) ... Goondiwindi is actually on the border between New South Wales and Queensland, small town and very hot the day we passed through.
A little further the road we had to slow for the cattle on the road. Queensland is suffering the worst drought for many years and the farmers are have to ageist their stock along roadsides to keep them alive. Remarkable as I write this we are experiencing some beautiful wet weather as cyclone Ita passes down our coast and bring with it the much needed rain.
If you have any thoughtful photos please play along and share with us at Our Beautiful World. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

ReplyDeleteLol, yes we all had a problem with this prompt, including me :-) And be warned, my prompts are usually like that, haha.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your take on it though. And the story you tell, so nice to get to know your country a little better.
Big hugs xx
