Reminiscing......

Oh the girls are having some fun this month over at
The Card Chain Challenge were everyone is celebrating 3000 CCC cards loving made and sent to a CCC friend.  They've announced Game 1 today and would like us to share our story with CCC and if possible our first card we sent.

This is my card sent to Jan in Alaska way back in March 2013.
As far as I can figure this is the first CCC card I sent...
we were living in a caravan at the time
as we'd just relocated from the west coast at Karratha and Perth (were we spent 2 years
and lots of my card making stuff  had travelled with us in our caravan under my bed)
- back to the east of Australia and we were waiting for approval to move into a rental in Yeppoon.
I have been a link in the chain on and off since March 2013
with none in 2018 and have sent about over 50 cards.
I did actually start to play along with the themes when Deb called the challenge Lily Pad Card Chain - challenge 106 in Oct 2011 but I didn't participate in exchange
Here's the March sign up link

and this is the card I received from Janet in Mauritius
here's the reveal post

Janet

This is very scary - looking back at your old cards, design, and abilities.... I am so thankful that I found card making -- it is a passion, I feel I'm learning more all the time and improving my techniques.  I would never have realised you could make friends using your cards and a blog, nor would I have realised I'd sent so many cards... it's all been a lot of fun and want to thank everyone who has ever sent me a card... they're in a box and some are still displayed around my room.  Thanks too to Deb, Gail and Jo for all you hard work  - I found that the CCC has been running since September 2009.  Have a Happy Day and stay safe

  1. Oh Robyn what a lot of cards, and friendships - my (late) DH could never figure it out that we could have friends we have never met!
I have looked back at some on my earlier cards and have cringed - yes we all grow and change as we learn and perfect techniques, and find our niche in the card making processes.
    Stay safe
    Blessings

  2. I think it's wonderful to see how much I've grown as a card maker. It's an actual reflection of my growth personally. I love to see the "beginner" cards of people whose cards I envy :) Congrats on all the cards you've sent and received.

  3. Hi Robyn, this is a lovely post with wonderful cards and memories. When I look back at my early blog posts it's interesting to see where we started and where we are now. I am proud to be a link in his amazing chain and the love and support from card makers all over the world is just awesome. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cards, sent and received. HUGZ

  4. You have been involved for a very long time, well done. It is fascinating to look back and see how peoples card making style has evolved. I can see that both you and Janet have always made stunning cards xx

  5. I too look back on older cards and say to myself, what was I thinking. I think for me learning new techniques and seeing other peoples cards really helped.
