More Christmas Baubles

Finished off a couple of Christmas cards this morning... both featuring Christmas Baubles  ...  and using the Weekly IDEAS prompt from Darnell... it's "E" - Embossing

My first card features Dry Embossing... I die cut a bauble and using part of an embossing folder embossed the poinsettia - then mixing some pearl powdered pigment to my pink distress ink - painted the image leaving the flower white..  gold painted the centers and hanger.  To finish I attached my embossed background to a pink card layer onto a white card and added some foliage and string.

For my next card I used the die cut baubles and painted them too with sparkly pink... then I white heat embossed some poinsettia flowers and attached them to green patterned paper with silver strings and added a silver heat embossed sentiment to a white card before attaching the panel.

Christmas Wreaths

Busy with my dies today making wreath cards adding a couple more cards to add to my Christmas stash...

My first was quite easy as I used a holly wreath die and all I needed to do was die cut the berries again in red and the little bow in gold and attach them - glitzed up with some glitter glue and attached to an embossed background, then finished with a die cut sentiment...  the die is from my NBUS stash so I'm joining in the fun at NBUS #77.

My second card took a bit longer with me die cutting various Christmas foliage and smooching them in green Distress Inks, also some red berries...  then the tricky part trying to arrange them in a circle shape and gluing them down without messing up the plan... then it all looked a bit sparce, so I stamped on a few extra leaves and finished with a gold die cut sentiment and attached the panel to a green card.

And also with Darnell's weekly IDEAS prompt - second week 'D' for Dies.

Watercolouring with Distress Oxide inks

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog...   today I've 3 cards to share using a quick and easy watercolour technique....

.....you simply ink your stamp with Distress Oxide inks, stamp it, and then with a wet brush pull the colours from the stamped outline.... and these cards fit perfectly with

Darnell's IDEAS weekly prompt... 'I' = Inks/Colour Mediums

A floral birthday card - stamped and watercoloured, die cut with oval shapes and attached to a dry embossed card - finished with a stamped and white embossed sentiment.

Two Christmas cards featuring Holly sprigs and stamped embossed sentiments

Christmas Wishes

Last day of the month... and just time to join in a couple of Christmas challenges.... Rudolph Days July challenge ....  and another card to help Jo celebrate challenge #100 at Christmas Kickstart

I've been a little Christmas Bauble crazy of late and for this one I tried something a little different...  for this I die cut a circle to use as a stencil and blended a couple of baubles with purple Distress Ink, then used a star stencil to add some stars using Distress Oxide.  Finished off with some stamped foliage and a gold embossed sentiment.... please not the little bauble hanger... I'm awful at drawing in these but found a tiny parcel stamp which suited the purpose just fine.

Now all of this stencil work was because I read the calendar wrong - quick glance at my desk one to see that there's 5 weeks this month so to join in with Darnell's IDEAS prompt - that would make it 'S' for Stencils...  nope, it's just 4 Mondays and it's 'A' - Anything Goes.

Leafy Christmas cards

I tried some more Generation Stamping with the ladies from Group of Seven Cardmakers..

I made two cards... you know while the stamps and gear are out - why not make another.
Stamped and embossed the sentiment and then added foliage and berries with Distress Inks

I've made a few of these Christmas Bauble cards this year... such fun and easy to make..  this time I used a mug and some old gold paint to 'stamp' and watercolour the ball - adding some red Distress Ink too. Then stamped some foliage and berries in Distress Oxides and watercoloured them and finished off with a stamped gold embossed sentiment.

Couple of Christmas cards

I did manage to have some mojo return over the weekend and created a few Christmas cards to add to my slowly growing stash.  The prompting from Darnells weekly IDEAS theme - 'A' for Anything Goes, fits both my cards.

AND to help Jo celebrate

100 Christmas Kickstart challenges,

CONGRATULATIONS --well done Jo

I made this gold, red and white card featuring 'spots'

Stamped and gold embossed this Christmas Flourish stamp 'off the page', then decorated it with some punched sparkly red holly and finished with a gold embossed sentiment on a raised die cut circle.

Add the Design Element this month at Group of Seven Card Makers is --  Generation Stamping

Well I fluffed around for any ideas for a Christmas card... and trees seem to be the answer but living in Australia and having Christmas in Summer it funny making cards with snowy winter themes.
But this is my effort - masked the snow slopes and created a weird patchy sky. Next I stamped the large tree with Distress Ink and then with the mask in place stamped a row of generation trees for the horizon.
Finished with a gold embossed sentiment and a green matt edge.

Best Wishes

 Hi !!!!
Now don't collapse with shock, yes I'm here --  all good, no health issues --  it just seems the arty farty part of my brain went walkabout...  maybe it was overcome with fresh air in the mornings I was out enjoying the weather and fiddling in my garden, and then too exhausted in the arvos and slouched off into the arm chair... you know as you get older you should slow down and do little bits at a time - that's what I tell my 95 y/o mum who still loves to potter in her garden.

I'm not sure the arty mojo has found it's way home yet because I made this card early June

It's been 9 weeks since I joined Darnell with her inspiring IDEAS weekly prompt - this week it is 'E' for Embossing ... and this card just so happens to have an embossed background (from my stash) and some tulips I stamped and coloured with some long forgotten Distress Marker (that actually still work) - finished with a red card frame and die cut sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by my blog..
have a Wonderful Day
Cheers Robyn

Sitting in the armchair I still managed to finish a couple of crochet projects..

A Pokemon hat my son requested
and a small rug using my remnant yarn

May Card Chain Challenge Reveal

My May Card Chain Challenge card went to Hilary in UK.

I used the colour palette... Aubergine, Rose and Coffee shades, and the sketch.

For some interest on the card I dry embossed the front panel, added sponged shading to the scalloped frame and some matching pretty paper to display the stamped floral bouquet - watercoloured and fussy cut.

Double Embossed Christmas card

A few minutes peace this afternoon and I've put together a Christmas card using this weeks theme from Darnells IDEAS prompt... E = Embossing Folders....  and haven't we all got a stash of them.  This square frame embossed panel is using one of those 'never before used stash' items for the NBUS challenge #74.   I double embossed this gorgeous ornament a friend gifted me - it embosses and die cuts at the same time --- then I gold embossed the raised areas  --- and hung it from some die cut pine sprigs and finished off with a stamped gold embossed sentiment.

It's nice to be adding a card to my Christmas stash too.  Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a wonderful day,    Cheers Robyn

Butterfly Birthday

Hi and happy weekend.... and another end of the week card for Darnell's IDEAS prompt ---  D = Dies,   so I've made a card entirely from die cuts which is way not normal for me.

I decided on a monochromatic theme to match this gorgeous metallic butterfly a friend sent me...  then I'd been playing around with some very old forgotten lovely shaped dies and this frame came in handy....  I then added some more interest with a die cut edge concealed behind the front and finished off with a die cut sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by my blog..... hope you have a wonderful weekend -- just enjoy life,

Cheers Robyn

Big Hello.... to all my friends

Waaayyy late this week with my post for

Darnell's IDEAS prompt -  first week on the month at it's       I = INKS/Colour Mediums

.... well anyway I've been a bit busy with hubby away and me doing some Spring cleaning.... doesn't it feel good when the windows are sparkly clean and the cobwebs gone ... more to do this week, but I did have this card I made a few weeks back....  you stamp the image with a light colour (Antique Linen Distress Ink) and then colour over with pencils...   I love the effect.

Thanks for stopping by my blog - and if your mojo is weak, pop over to Darnells blog for some inspiration....  have a great week,   cheers Robyn

April Card Chain Challenge Reveal

My card for the April Card Chain Challenge went off to Brenda in the UK.  I used the sketch, colours and rabbit theme.

I used a smooched background from my stash which just so happened to have orange and slate colours and then used an embossing folder to create the pattern.... inking it with Distress Oxide weathered wood and pressing it over the panel.  Then I embossed a white card panel with the same EF.  I stamped, watercoloured and fussy cut the rabbit in his flowerpot and to help his stand out added a die cut circle... then finished off with a stamped sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a wonderful day,   Cheers Robyn
