Special Occasion

A last minute card from me this afternoon.... for the Fusion challenge - Cake.
I stamped the cake image and embossed in gold then watercoloured it with Distress Inks and fussy cut this out.  I used an embossing pen to add ink to the cake stand and flower centres and brushed on Pearl Ex Interference Gold powder.  I trimmed some light blue striped patterned paper to form the elements on the side of the card for the layout and glued these in place before attaching the cake with foam tape.

May Your Day Sparkle..

 This card has certainly met the inspiration from Shopping Our Stash challenge SOS#344 - National Dress Day.... I've really dug into my stash and out with an old 'dress' stamp for my image - it's so old I was a bit worried I wouldn't get an image with the rubber hardening up, but it worked and I gave it a lovely lift with some water colouring and micro beads - from my stash. I die cut my stamped panel with a cutout scallop die and used pinky mauve card to frame it, onto a purple background and white card. To finish I stamped my sentiment and die cut it, sponged the edges and used foam tape to attach it.  Then I found these gorgeous shiny satin flowers I have been hoarding for a looong time and used foam tape to arrange them.  I am playing along at Just Add Ink #399 - Just Add Water - I water coloured using Distress Ink, and also to Southern Girls Challenge - Pop It Up - popped up my sentiment and flowers.
