WHW #121–Embossed Edges

Last Wednesday at Inspired by Stamping their Whoo Hoo Wednesday technique #121 was for Embossed Edges...I love doing this technique and on Saturday made this card at friend Vikki craft space using ALL of her gear as I'm in town this week cuddling up to our new granddaughter Sophie Alice.  I chose to emboss the edges of my tag with a matching ink colour - got to use Vikki's new Spellbinders lattice die and inked up some seambinding to match....it for a special couple who sent me a birthday gift :-), I might add a flower to the top left corner.  Thanks for taking a peek

Christmas Bauble

A second card from me today for the 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown challenge #22, with the theme "Bling It Up".  I created this sparkly Christmas bauble by rubbing and ink stick over my stamp, stamped it onto card stock and then sprinkling gold glitter over....it worked fabulously, so I've made a couple. I only added one gold gem to the star and a dark purple bow to finish  it off.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas Tree

This weeks challenge at Less is More - Week 142 is TREES....so of course at it is coming up Christmas and I need more cards I've made a soft Christmas card with my tree die cut and distress ink background.  Then I've dressed up the tree with clear crystal gems for the theme at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown #22 - "Bling it up".        Thanks for taking a peek

Well it's very nice to be back sharing my Saturday with friend Vikki via Skype.. we inspire each other and today we've been hard at it and here's my fourth post - one for the Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge. - 'anything goes'.  Here Vikki and I were both taken by Chuppas card (here) that we dug out our Distress Inks and created backgrounds.  Thanks for taking a peek

Bright Merry Christmas

Oh yes did I not dig into the bags in search of ribbons for this card and yes, some I've had for a very long time, what they asked for at the Shopping Our Stash challenge SOS#123 this week - your oldest ribbon. I've teamed that with the layout at Sketchbook Saturday #107 for this gold theme Christmas card. Thanks for taking a peek

 SOS #123 - Oldest Ribbon

Love this simple layout from CAS(E) this Sketch #50, and the holly wreath from Chocolate Baroque stamped and embossed really nicely. The cardstock is cream and looks heaps better than the pic.  Thanks for taking a peek

CHNC challenge extra for October

Hi there this windy overcast day in sunny Queensland...no it's very pleasant
So late yesterday while posting another card to the Christmas Cards All Year Round blog I discovered they were running a 5 card challenge and as I'd already had two made, two underway I only need to use the last scrap of the grey and white paper to make a fifth...so here's my cards a couple of which are for the Seize the Sketch STS #6 layout challenge and one for The Sweet Stop SSS232 sketch challenge, I'm posting also on CraftyHazelnut's Christmas monthly challenge - 'Anything Goes'. Hope you're getting along with your Christmas card stash, happily mine is now around 50 since I've had a good week to catch up.  Thanks for taking a peek

Sending You Birthday Wishes

chalkboardtechnique  sketch1  colors-4 birthdaybashsketches

This afternoon I've combined four challenges from Inspired by Stamping.  I really like taking part in these challenges but have been a bit focused on Christmas this week...and only realised the deadline was today..so here I've tackled the Chalkboard Technique; white embossing my sentiment on navy.  Then used the layout for Sketch #1 and the Colours of #4 and The Birthday Theme for the October 2nd Birthday Celebrations at Inspired by Stamping.
Cheers ladies and congratulations on your second year...I'm sure to be taking part again.

Joy to the World

Hi happy card makers....yesterday I was quite taken with the JUGS210 challenge - 'Die Cut Inlay Technique' and as I'm really happy with the Christmas tree die that I recently bought attached to a magazine I thought I'd give it a go...and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  Also got away from the traditional colours and used this weeks colour challenge at the Paper Players PP147...and thankfully my Christmas card pile is growing.  Thanks for taking a peek

WOYWW #228

Oh welcome back me to my first post in 6 weeks - a quick summary; is that we flew south to prepare our rental property for sale - painted out the interior and new floor coverings, concreted the driveway and then sister-in-law and hubby decided to buy so our planned hard worked stopped and they can use their younger bodies and make it their own. As this wasn't planned and Julie is to become the carer for my in-laws, they're all moving into the 4 bedroom and we now have the in-laws (our other investment) unit to sell....that's looking good so far too. Then we flew back to Townsville with my mum in toe and celebrated my 60th with family and friends. Also enjoyed a special day with our daughter and her Baby Shower, drove home with mum to Yeppoon and we veged for a week before she had to say goodbye. Now we wait for the baby, our first grandchild due in 10 days...we're all pretty excited as you can imagine. So this is my desk this morning - a bit of a mess with drawers spilling and DP pads on the floor...the pressure is on now to complete my Christmas cards- the window card in the middle I finished last night and posted it and there are a couple in progress to the left. Now if you're wondering about our Wednesday desk blogging pop over to Julias to read all about it. Happy Crafting and now I'm off to check out a few desks...Cheers

Blue and White Christmas card

Sometimes isn't it so difficult to get away from the traditional Red and Green Christmas colours, but this week I've been on the blue and white colour scheme so this fits really well with the challenge at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown #22. And I just purchased a magazine with this fabulous Christmas tree die so I've been rolling away on the Cuttlebug perfecting the cutout - seems my C plate is about had it...accidentally my star fitted perfectly over the snowflake on the the DP.  Thanks for taking a peek....happy Christmas card making

For the ABC Christamas Challenge - T for Transparent, I've made a Christmas window card complete with 'transparent' glass, with a cute little cardinal to peer through at the decorated embossed tree. Thanks for taking a peek

Blue, White and Silver Merry Christmas

Found some snowflake paper white checking out my Christmas stash so here's another card for Merry Monday #79 - Snowflakes.  Thanks for taking a peek

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Trying so hard for some motivation as it's been about 5 weeks since I've been able to sit at my desk and now the pressure is on to make Christmas cards...so I've made a few of this one as they were nice a simple...love the blue and white theme for Christmas and even dug out the old silver embossing powder for my sentiment - Snowflakes for #79 Merry Monday. I even die cut the snowflakes from glitter cardstock I've had for years - sometimes it's hard for us Aussies to make winter Christmas cards lucky for me I've a few reles overseas.
