What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday? #247

Hi and welcome to my WOYWW#247 desk this beautiful day... well really I'm not working at my usual desk making cards, I'm at the dining room table with my sewing machine and I've just finished making a carry-all bag for my grand-daughter Sophie who will soon be attending day care as mum has to go back to work.  I found this fabulous white and grey little people fabric and decided to line the bag with a bright colour :-) pink of course for a girl. It has two pockets on the outside ends and more pockets inside plus a key clip and magnet closing tab (cut the magnet from an old handbag of mine and yes it was really easy to fit).  Now if you're wondering why I'm waffling on about my crafty day please pop over to Julias blog and you'll find heaps of other crafty people sharing their desks too. I'm glad my sewing day has been successful so now I'll make a coffee and take some time to go check out some desks. Cheers and thanks for taking a peek Robyn

I've been playing around with onion skins to dye watercolour card - wet the skins and card and sandwich them for a half hour....I remember doing this years ago.

  4. Your bag looks amazing! You are not the first person I've seen this morning sewing at their dining table. It's a popular trend today! Well, I never thought I'd love this season of Downton Abbey this much, but I really really did. You will love it Robyn! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #6

  9. Thank you for stopping in. I didn't get to see anyone till now. We had to take my daughters dog back to Columbus ( a 3 hour drive to have his staples out and 3 hours back ) it kinda killed the day you can say. But I got a pack of new markers.. oh I'm so bad! And I love the bag!!! Super cute! The onion.. never heard of it.. but I think it would be fun for my granddaughter to try. Roberta @35

  11. What a cute bag!! That fabric is just adorable, and it's always nice to have a bright, light inside and you've certainly filled the bill there. And what a great idea to use your onion skins to die paper (smiling now), I would have never thought to do that. Like the texture it creates too! And finally your photo at the top of the blog is just killer...Thanks for stopping by the Fun Room. Hope you have a great week. Sara j #43

  13. Oh Robyn, it's times like this I wish I knew how to sew, not just tear and stitch. You did a brilliant job on that bag.

I never used my onion skins like that, because I used mine to dye muslin, but this is fabulous for when I paper craft. Thanks for the idea. Thanks for visiting earlier and happy WOYWW from #1.

  14. Hi Robyn,

What a cute bag! I find it interesting how many of us crafters re-use things. Very cool.

The onion skin to dye the paper is great! I just threw out some gum healing spray and wondered about dying paper with that -- now I'm going to dig it out of the trash and try it! tee hee

We get all kinds of birds here. Mostly chickadees and titmice; lots of ravens and bluejays. I had three woodpeckers on the tree the other day after I put out pieces of apples. In the spring the hummingbirds will arrive. I really have fun sitting in the yard to see who comes visiting.

Thank you for visiting me already!
    Happy belated WOYWW

  18. LOVE the sweet bag, it's brilliant! The onion skins are interesting, we used to do all manner of things like that at school when I was little. Your Christmas cards are wonderful too, I'm really behind this year. Cute little kitties too, I hope they get good homes to got to, always a shame when they have to go.
