WOYWW Week 297 and a cheery hello from my desk in Queensland, Australia, where today am enjoying making a few cards. If you're wanting to know why I'd post a photo of my desk just pop over to Julias blog - to read all about it and maybe you'd like to join in and visit desks across the globe and interact with amazing crafty people... loads of fun and very addictive.
Here's my desk around mid-day with a shaker card on my work pad - for a challenge and our DD 30th birthday next month - finished card here. On the left is my laptop and my connection to the world - grown reliant on this bit of electronics; keeps me in touch with family and friends by email and enables me to type letters and send photos, and browse the net, research my family trees and just plain enjoy blogging, posting and visiting. Behind it a tube of hand cream, have a terrible dose of peeling fingers and next to that a story book on CD, borrowed from the local library so I can listen to stories while I work. Two cards at the back received this week from my dear stamping buddies and a completed card on my stand waiting for a sentiment. In front of that another card ready to assembly and another using the same bird stamp with the peach coloured card and ribbon and lace. The little pile of stamps at back right I'm using with my Mothers' Day cards for the Aussie troops - I have made 21 and have picked out of my stash another 12 to convert from birthday cards. And behind me on the chair is Henry - he likes to be close and up off the floor. Thanks for dropping by today and to all who visiting last week, I'm off to make a cuppa and browse and few desk now
Cheers Robyn

I love an audio book Robyn, the greatest crafters invention!! Pretty colour for your shaker card, and how that stamp takes me back..one of the first I ever bought...and prolly one of the most useful!

Hi Robyn, so much to see on your desk. Love the cards, where would we be without computers these days? I'd spend a lot less on craft supplies for a start, lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #13 xx
ReplyDeleteYou are right about computers, we wouldn't be peeking around without them! Don't know if I would even be crafting without them, other crafters are such an inspiration :) happy woyww!

How lonely we would be without our computers these days.....instant friends.....LOL I saw the perfect saying on an other blog "I Love My Computer, Cause That is Where My Friends Live"
ReplyDeleteYour cards are stunning.
Have a great week and thanks for the comment.
that is so funny to me that your kitty can sleep so off the edges of the chair and I love how big your desk is. ( most likely mine is too but, its too covered in "stuff" to squeeze in a laptop safely. ( I am really klutzy so, the big fear is I would spill something on it) the gift bag card is such a pretty color :) ~Stacy #64
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet kitty--your desk looks creative and clean all at the same time! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #48

What an exciting desk! Lots going on. I love that shaker card for your DD.
ReplyDeleteYes, where would we be without computers... I said to my husband: I'll follow you to the end of the earth as long as there is internet access, lol. Now we live in a cave house, with internet of course. It's a radio connection and as such very slow. But hey, I've got all day!
Have a good week,

Henry looks like my Socrates. Sleeping in a chair, actually I have 2 cats sleeping nearby. What do you use for your work pad?

ReplyDeleteOops I'm #62 this week not 6
DeleteI had a close up look at your card and it's gorgeous. I'm a sucker for anything sparkly or shaky.

What a tidy space and your kitty looks well rested :) hugs Nikki 5
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn, Your card is looking very pretty! And Henry looks so peaceful!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, you have peeling hands too! Mine are awful. The best advice has been to keep them out of water! Easier said than done when I am constantly messing around with paints and ink, etc. I hope you get some relief with the hand cream. I probably have about a dozen tubes scattered around the house.
I will give the scheduled post a try :) I embraced technology this week by downloading the local library e-reading app so now I can borrow books and read them on my phone! Super!
Have a good week.
I'm a recent convert to audio books. I had wanted the Poe one for ages purely because Vincent Price was one of the readers, Basil Rathbone was the other. Now that I have it, I wish Basil Rathbone had read the whole lot - he's brilliant! Doesn't half make me jump - perhaps not so good when driving down the motorway! :D Which reminds me - I should do a book review (of sorts) on it.
ReplyDeleteHenry is so gorgeous and he looks like he has such a contented smile on his face.
