Week 310 at What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday where crafty people like to share what they've been playing at recently, so if you'd like to have a snoop too pop over to our hostess Julias blog and join in... it's fun and inspiring and you get to meet some wonderful people.
Here's my desk just now....I've been working on a waterlily card, painting it with my Distress Inks - that's my large sheet of plastic on the right that I use to dilute and blend my inks and then when I'm finished painting I often 'sop' up the leftovers to make backgrounds. There's a couple of CIPs (cards in progress) on the left and you will notice I have my Ott-Lite on as my venation blinds are part closed with the sunlight glaring in at this time of day (3;15pm). I've been away for a few weeks and head off again this weekend for 4 weeks so must remember to take WOYWW#6 ATC making gear with me...I'm playing and will post to the person next to me but if there are any Aussie girls who'd like to swap please let me know. Thanks for popping by my desk, now it's time to visit a few, Cheers and enjoy your week
Hi Robyn,
ReplyDeleteNice painting with the distress inks. I keep forgetting about the painting possibilities with them :)
I'm happy to swap ATCs, if you like. (I have your address, somewhere.)

That's a lovely example of what can be done with DIs as watercolours. Thanks for your kind comment. I'll be sure to share when it's done.

Hi Robyn. That waterlily card is going to be beautiful - the colours are lovely. Well done - Have a good time away, enjoy your crafting whilst there! Thanks for the visit - and your lovely kind comments. We head off to John's first class in about an hour - he's nervous, not knowing quite what he will be expected to do. I'm sure he will be fine - the physios are just great! Sorry you, too are unwell - a long term illness can be very tiring and trying, can't it?
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless you.

Hi Robyn, your waterlilly card looks gorgeous, I use distress inks for painting, not very successful as you do but they really are versatile.

ReplyDeleteAs always, I am impressed with the gorgeous cards you make. Your attention to detail is amazing. I like how you recycle your leftover inks and paints. And the backgrounds never turn out the same, do they?

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting me! Your desk is pretty, and there's so much to look at! I love those cute little cubby drawers too--very handy. Have fun and safe travels. Sandy Leigh #52
ReplyDeleteNot only is that waterlily card completely gorgeous, but your idea of using the leftover colours to make backgrounds is genius! That appeals to me as I'm a very generous person in life but a complete tighta@£e when it comes to fabric. I can't bear waste! Lol...

ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous painting Robyn. I see you use DI as opposed to Distress pens. I am not keen on those as I find them scratchy.
ReplyDeleteNice cards at the back too.

ReplyDeleteoh that is a cool idea to use a big sheet of plastic. ( I tend to just pat the pads on a clear block but, that doesn't leave much room for mixing) ~Stacy #66
