What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday??

Hi and welcome to my desk or rather minute table in my craftavan this fine Wednesday.
Today I am attempting to find some mojo to finish this floral card - I watercoloured it with distress inks a couple of days ago...you can see the blobs of ink on the right - they never quite dry so I leave them on the plastic sheet and then lightly mist them when I'm ready to colour again...sometimes there's lot of blobs and I wet them lots and make backgrounds. I have some shades of blue card out trying to match it for some layered backgrounds and then at the back I've got out my new Darkroom Door Happy Birthday sentiment set to use on the card. It's quite dark in the van so I definitely need my Ott-Lite.  Thanks for taking an interest today, I'm posting and then off to visit some other desks via Julia's Stampin' Ground blog - check it out too and join in if you're new and wondering what I'm on about. Cheers

  1. Well, that's a clever idea, using up the left over blobs of paint to make backgrounds! I hate wasting stuff, so if I paper crafted, I'd do that too! Waste not, want not as my mum used to say :-)
You've settled in very well in the craftavan (lol!) it looks very snug and comfy :-)

  2. Sometimes those blobs make the best backgrounds don't they?I thought I was the only one who used their blobs hehe!!
Thanks for the lovely comment Roobyn.I did love that side of teaching. When I did Relief Teaching after I resigned, I found puppets were invaluable- even worked well in the Toughest of schools with teachers who were on "Poor performance". The kids were so naughty, but the puppets told them they were lovely, and that they would be a good class for Mrs.McCarthy.I hardly had any bad behaviour!! All this work has brought back a lot of those old memories!Nice.
Have a good week. Love your craftavan!

  6. Waste not, want not as they say. Good idea though.
Ah, your mojo will come back. You have many other things on your mind at the mo. When things are back to normal (when....) you'll see, there will be no stopping you!
    Thanks for popping by,
    Have a good week,

  7. Using the left over blobs is a great idea and very resourceful. I am the same with the wools and fibres left over from my needle-felting. Never throw any of it away as I can always add it to another project in the future. Happy crafting :-)

  8. Love that lamp! Just tried taking a pic in the evening, and had to take new ones the next day, because they were all yellow. I haven't yet orientated how dark times we have ahead if us, And taking pictures of work or work in progress will again need special arrangements... Happy crafting in your little van :)
