It's nearing the end of the month already so I'm posting my card to Rudolph Days challenge - Anything Goes. I am also playing along with 52 (Christmas) cards challenge - technique - Starburst. I made two cards, the first was the blue one inspired by a card on the net --- at http://yourstrulybydiana.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/hope-you-can-cling-to-2015.html
I sponged three shades of blue DI to create the starburst effect and used die cut trees at the bottom where I also stamped and embossed my sentiment. Finished off the card with punched stars.
I decided that I should also try the technique using up some of my scrap Christmas papers... cut the papers and sponged the edges in red then mounted them onto a red card. To finish I stamped a sentiment on a die cut circle and then added it to a slightly larger red circle and final added a fussy cut holly from my papers. Thanks for taking a peek
Hi Robyn, Both cards are great, but I really like the second one.

Brilliant cards! The sponging effect is so good, you've graduated it beautifully, and the second one looks so effective mounted on the red. So different from each other.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along at Christmas Card Throwdown.
Two very different cards, both lovely. The blue and white one is stunning! Thanks for joining us at the Christmas Card Throwdown. Lucinda (DT)
ReplyDeleteTwo fabulous cards, from the subtle blue one to the bright and bold second, both are great.

Two wonderful cards. I have always wanted to try this starburst technique. I like the two versions you chose.
ReplyDeleteThe non traditional coloured snippets card is a bright and cheery Christmas card. The blue inked starburst has a very peaceful feel.
Thanks for taking part in the Feb. Rudolph Days Challenge.
Beautiful cards - my favourite is the first one as I love the colours. Thank you for sharing with us at the Rudolph Day challenge.

Hi Robyn, two great cards for your Christmas card stash, love the blue one and the second card looks like a good idea to use up scrappy bits. Happy Rudolph Day, have a wonderful week... Megan
ReplyDeleteBoth of these cards are gorgeous Robyn! I too am a sucker for shades of blue at Christmas and your inking on the first one is fantastic, so clean and stunning, I am mucky with my inks so don't even try that any more, have a good week x
ReplyDeleteTwo pretty cards Robyn and love the first with the blue inks to create the starburst and you have got lots of shadows and highlights which really makes it 3D, and the trees and little slope across go beautifully. The second using your bits of papers looks great and the colours coordinate really well. x
ReplyDeleteTwo great cards but that blue card is just stunning Robyn! You sponged the starburst perfectly and the little spots of snow to finish it off is great too.
ReplyDeleteStunning Starburst cards, love the sponging, and the papers look fab too xxx
