April Fools Day Boo Boo

Today I am playing along with Darnell and her April Fools Day Boo Boo challenge. I am re-posting a card I made a few weeks back.... with not only one booboo but two.... I was struggling with all the red and green and decided to leave off colouring the candy canes till I decided what background I was going to use....  Then I got busy with the shaker bit, cut my frame from the only matching red card scrap I could find and proceeded to assemble it all... totally forgot the uncoloured canes, too busy trying to keep all those sequins and sparkles in place and once it was all stuck down saw the mistake.... but then I also realised the frame was on backwards... see the faint gold stamping on the red... that was the back!!!  I need a lesson on making shaker cards.... all my mini bits get stuck around the edge.. Help!  and then you should have seen my fingers after I tried using a red marker to colour the white edges of the 3D tape..... a 'fun' time was had anyway and the card is still going to be used.
Thanks for taking a peek .... and never mind the imperfections, others don't notice.

  1. Oh, you do have me chuckling, Robyn! Shaker cards give me fits, too. So badly, in fact, that I bought a Fuse Tool which allows one to just make little baggies and seal them. No muss, no fuss. (But still, she says, shamefaced, I don't use it often enough!) I give you one thousand percent effort for this one! The layers are amazing, as is your coloring, and your photography with those sweet little boot brads and ribbon! Anyone would be proud to receive this delightful card, even with the candy canes that slipped through quality control, lol! Every bag has at least two, right?! Thank you so much for being a good sport and sharing your boo-boos in my Boo Boo Hop and NBUS Challenge #11! Love ya, Darnell

  3. I was so focused on the pretty sequins that I didn't notice the candy sticks!

  4. I did not notice the candy canes or the frame until you pointed them out as I saw the beautiful card only. And, you can say that was the spotlight technique where you only colored a portion. LOL Works for me!
