Merry Christmas

Finishing off some cards ... from pieces left on my desk these last few weeks.

I went a bit nuts and cut a heap with this Sizzix Layered Christmas Flower die and this time teamed it with some holly sprigs die cut in white (from a magazine freebie - Festive Wishes) and also an embossed background - Sizzix: Flurries (one of my favs).  I'm unsure of the sentiment die... it's from my stash and I blended some maroon ink along the bottom to tie in with the flower, then added a couple of twist of gold cord.

I am playing along with Double 'D' challenge - Lots of WHITE

Thanks for stopping by my blog, hope you've had a wonderful Christmas and my very best wishes to you all for a Safe, Prosperous and Crafty New Year  ...   Robyn

and Still More Christmas Cards

...and back today with a couple more cards... I'm wondering where my mojo was hiding a few months back when I was distracted and not inspired...  Hoping this burst will produce some other types of cards as Birthdays will soon start rolling around again.

A very CAS card for the AAA Cards challenge #205 - Christmas
  • Stamped the ornament from Hampton Arts: Merry Christmas Ornament with Versamark and gold embossed on a white card panel
  • Then re-stamped it on red card with gold embossing and fussy cut it out
  • Attached with foam tape

  • No stamping at all.... Used a snowflake embossing folder Sizzix: Winter Wonderland
  • Die cut snow flakes from gold holographic card (re-cycled Christmas Cracker from last year) using die from Chloe Endean Designs
  • Die cut sentiment in green glitter card - from Avery Elle: Let It Snow
  • From the same set die cut the arch in a white card panel and also the framed border with snow drops
  • Assembled the card

More Christmas Cards....

.... at the rate I'm going I'll have half my cards for next year made, but I do enjoy my quiet time at the desk creating cards, and recently I've been showing some Scrapbooking ladies how to use the Cuttlebug and Embossing Folders...  so here are of few of those I made

  • Embossing folder from Card Making Magic: Yuletide Wishes set, using some cream patterned card
  • Die cut some Holly from the same Yuletide Wishes set and the sentiment from Crafters Companion: Entwined Holly & Yuletide Sentiment set
  • Attached to a cream card and added some glitter to the holly and a few gems

  • Magazine freebie embossing folder
  • Die cut Robin from Card Making Magic:  Yuletide Wishes set
  • Die cut pine sprigs from Sizzix: Winter Woodland
  • Attached elements to a white card

  • Embossing Folder from Sizzix: Winter Wonderland set
  • Die cut the Poinsettia flower from Sizzix: Layered Christmas Flower
  • Stamped sentiment from  Card Making Magic:  Yuletide Wishes set and embossed with gold
  • Assembled using a white card and foam tape on the flower for dimension

  • Embossing folder from Crafters Companion: Entwined Holly & Yuletide Sentiment set, embossed then swiped with Versamark and gold embossed... lots of scattered gold embossing so I spritzed the panel with gold mist
  • Die cut the Poinsettia from Sizzix: Layered Christmas Flower
  • Die cut pine sprigs and berry branch from  Sizzix: Winter Woodland
  • Stamped sentiment from Kaisercraft: mini Christmas sentiment set, onto black card and white embossed
  • Assembled the elements on pearl white card

Christmas Baubles

Well our Christmas tree went up today, decorated with lots of red and gold baubles... really gets you into the festive mood... and so I had time to make a card for the

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #4

  • Applied Versamark to the raised surface of a 3D embossing folder.. Sizzix: Retro Ornament
  • Then through the Cuttlebug and on with silver embossing powder.... so the embossing is actually on the recessed sections.... a few dots and lines missed out so I coloured them with a silver gel pen
  • Next I watercoloured the ornaments with Distress Inks.. in the blue shades - which is not difficult because they are recessed.
  • Attached to a white card with a dark blue border and finished off with a few gems and glitter glue

I was inspired by the photo prompt with the baubles, blues and silver
