Trying hard to get back my mojo... so I've had some fun with Dies today
I've three challenges to join
Darnells IDEAS prompt - "D" for Dies
Group of Cardmakers are using Dies to create Embossing
I have a set of wavy edge border dies --- so after I die embossed and cut one from white card to attach to the front of a card, I used the offcut and embossed it with a different edge and quickly I had two cards started.
For my first card I blended yellow Distress Ink behind the wavy edge to create a spotlight to display my favorite die cut daisy... watercoloured with Distress Inks, and to finish stamped on a sentiment
My second card had a simply die embossed edge and thinking to add a block of colour I used some aqua blue mulberry paper flecked with gold threads.... which made me think to use some die cut gold leaves. I also die cut a butterfly from glittery aqua card and added some matching gems... used these also to help hide the dobs of glue to hold down the mulberry paper... lastly a die cut 'smile' from my stash to finish.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a wonderful day, cheers Robyn
Robyn... what a fabulous layout. Love the border embossing... and the gorgeous flower peeking through. Just lovely... thanks so much for sharing this gem with Just Us Girls.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh ... two AMAZING cards Robyn! Love your design with the wavy edge. The first card with the flower tucked into the side is beautiful!! Especially with the purple bloom against the yellow sponging. Great work with embossing with dies! Your second card is equally beauiful with the pretty butterfly and your gorgeous mulberry panel. The gold leaves pick up the colour in the mulberry paper. Fantastic!! Thanks for sharing with us at Group of Cardmakers! xx
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning cards Robyn - what a beautiful way to use your dies to emboss. You have inspired me

These are both terrific cards Robyn and I love that curvy edge with the added embossed pattern which looks fabulous on both, and the added flower on the first with that pretty yellow blended in the background, and then the pretty mulberry paper and butterfly in shades of blue with the lovely gold leaves on the second complement the embossed die design perfectly. Thank you so much for joining in with this month's Group of Cardmakers technique. x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Robyn, especially the Smile one as I love blue!
