Using Dies to Emboss

Playing around with my dies to create embossed frames on these two card

It's 'E' for embossing at Darnell's IDEAS prompt     and

at Group of Cardamkers the technique is 'Embossing with Dies'

- the first is actually a die frame with a matching die to cut out the center... I trimmed the card and punch rounded the corners.. Used a die to cut my flowers and water coloured them with Distress Inks, cut the stems from green card that matched the patterned paper background... finished off the card with a blank stamped and clear embossed sentiment  (haven't done that for a while, I remember when everything was embossed)

For my Christmas card I used two fancy edge large dies to create the frame and added some die cuts --- Cut the sentiment from matt metallic card and the outline of the bauble in white and the inlaid parts from purple and red glitter card

Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a wonderful day
Cheers Robyn

  1. My Robyn, you have been busy using this technique and two more brilliant cards here. I love the embossed die pattern around the frame and the pretty patterned background within the aperture, and the bright die cut flowers and leaves look great. Then your pretty sparkly bauble with the holly leaves and berries is complemented perfectly by the added embossed frames in the background, and the large coordinating die cut 'Merry Christmas' finishes it beautifully. Thank you for joining in with us over at the Group of Cardmakers with these wonderful cards. x
