Merry Christmas tag card

This is my first time posting with Muse: Christmas Visions 59 challenge and I'm pleased to find another group to inspire me in my Christmas card making.  Merediths inspirational card caught my eye and as you can see I've CASEd her layout using a tag and poinsettias. I die cut the sentiment and the  flowers and the only ink I've used is sponged onto the petals through the die to create veins. Thanks for taking a peek

A little birdie told me....

The unusual and beautiful photo prompt this week at Just Us Girls #358 inspired me to create this bright and smoochy background with my Brushos...I am so pleased with how it turned out without too much 'muddying'  So then, as so often you don't want to cover up all that loveliness with layers, I decided to just make a silhouette card. I masked the left and bottom to stamp my image and then drew in the black line edge. Then finished it with a simple layer of black onto white card and a stamped sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

Tied with Love

I'm posting my card to five challenges - firstly with Darnells 'Never Before Used Schtuff' - challenge #7; I love playing along with NBUS because it really does make you search out a stamp you bought because it appealed to you but then you find you have favourites and migrate to them often, for me it's florals.  Then over at the Simon Says Monday challenge - It's a Stitch Up; so this NBUS stamp fell right into the theme. At Simon Says Wednesday challenge - It's Hip to be Square; haven't made a square card for ages.  The theme at House of Cards - Use Twine or the Colour suggestions - the lovely colours appealed to me so I've used them as a guide for my colouring. And finally the Stamplorations CAS challenge for August - Anything Goes with a twist of Gold - After painting my stamped image with Distress Inks and layering on colour card stock I "Tied" gold thread across the corners and finished with a small stamped heart and die cut 'love' for the sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

King"fisher"

The theme this week a Simon Says Monday is "Go Fish"
I really like this Stamplorations Kingfisher stamp, so I created a little scene for him. Used sponged Distress Inks in three colours to create the water, then stamped grasses and reeds in two colours and then added some dimension with coloured texture paste over the grass. At the last minute I decided not to add a sentiment instead I re-stamped the bird wing and fussy cut it to give the kingfisher more life. I am also going to share this card at Stamplorations - Anything Goes Challenge.

Happy Wishes

Today I'm enjoying some quiet creative time at my desk after a morning of re-potting some plants. Yep I'm a gardener who just loves flowers - they make me happy. So of course my tag features a flower. I've truly just cased Michelle's tag over at Tag You're It #54 - I love the colours.  I finished off my DI watercoloured tag with a few tiny sequins and some colourful threads.  Thanks for taking a peek

Don't they just amaze you?

..... that's how it is at my place most of the time!!!!
Hope you've had a great week, thanks for stopping by, cheers

Just a little over 20!

Today I've had a little bit of fun with TH Birds stamps to make a birthday card.  As you can see I masked off one of the smaller birds and coloured them in with some cheery colours, then I added some smiles and lashes and a few pearls so the birthday girl is looking her best. I added some speech bubbles/ or they could be tags and stamped on a sentiment.  Finished off by layering with two bright panels and a hand drawn frame. I'm posting to Shopping Our Stash SOS266 - use numbers, also Seize the Birthday with a topping of Tags-Little or Big, and finally with Happy Little Stampers August CAS challenge - Masking.

Merry Christmas

Today I found a few moments to put together a card for the 52 (Christmas) card throwdown with the theme - Gifts. I am also going to post it with the Rudolph Days Challenge for August which is Anything Goes.  I used an embossed background on kraft card with a swipe of purple on the raised areas and teamed that with a purple layer.  I stamped and coloured a 'gift' stack and finished it with a gold bow and stamped sentiment. With Love

My card today is Inspired by Stacy's card below, I Copied her idea to use a die cut frame as my card base and then used part of the floral image from the PP Azalea set which I painted with Distress Ink and then fussy cut like Stacy to frame sentiment.  My card is for the monthly Power and Spark challenge at Power Poppy.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

My last card for today is for the ABC Christmas Card challenge - "Q" for a Quick Layout.
And a nice quick card this was - I used a stocking image I had in my leftover stash from last year which was already coloured with Distress Inks - so all I needed to do was fussy cut it, add some white gel pen highlights and mount it on a tag I found in a designer paper pack, add some tassels and a sentiment and mount it to the background....Quick and Easy. Thanks for taking a peek

Friday Smiles

Share a smile... Week 183 Friday Smiles....oh it has been a happy week here, the only down thing I can think of is the number on the bathroom scales...it's just right to eat all those yummy things while you have visitors - Right!!

I loved having mum here for three weeks, she flew home yesterday -  so it was one last breakfast on the front deck.
Little Mia isn't 10 months till the end of this month.....I think mum and dad are going to have their hands full...

She was walking yesterday holding onto just one hand and just about got her balance to stand alone.
Here we all are - "The Girls" --- how hard is it to get a photo with everyone looking - even the adults
And our two gorgeous girls
See why I'm smiling....
Have a wonderful weekend and please pop over to Annies blog and check out the other smiles and maybe join in and add your little bit of happiness.  Cheers

Twas the night before Christmas...

Oh it is feeling good to be making a few cards.... another Christmas card and this one for the Colour challenge at 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown - and the August palette is Red, Black and Kraft.
I had this image already stamped in my stash and so just so chose the three colours in Distress Inks to paint the image and simply layer it to bring out the colours. I thought this sentiment was  quite appropriate.  Thanks for taking a peek

Merry Christmas

Three Christmas cards finished today, so I'm feeling very pleased.... This RED card is for Jingle Belles - Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer challenge - predominantly red .... so you can see I stuck to the theme.  I stamped my Poinsettia image and sentiment on white card and embossed them.  Then using my Candied Apple Distress Ink and a dry baby wipe I coloured in the whole card.  I used a paintbrush and Aged Mahogany DI to highlight both and some Ripe Persimmon DI on the berries.  Thanks for taking a peek

Here's a pic of my Poinsettia growing in a pot in my garden.
