Believe in your Dreams

I've been so busy making Christmas cards and tags lately that all other cards have fallen by the wayside.... anyway now I've another partly finished card from my desk completed and just right for this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Masculine challenge WWC#145.
The bamboo in the foreground was made by inking up an embossing folder and using a brayer to apply the image to a card panel...then I added a tiny bit of pale yellow to the stems with a paintbrush. Then I stamped on my yacht and coloured it with bright colours   - I masked off just the image on a larger stamp and inked just the boat....I love using just parts of stamps.  Then I painted in my horizon with Distress Inks... and very light wash for the sky and foreground.  I used a dark red layer to bring out the sunset and a teal coloured card to enhance the water.
To finish I stamped my sentiment and attached the strip with foam tape and added a compass point image.  Thanks for taking a peek

  2. Thanks so much for joining us at the Watercooler Wednesday Masculine challenge this week Robin. It is difficult to keep up at this time of year with our non-christmas cards, but great job you've made here. Love the brayered bamboo. Great focal point with the yacht sailing off into the beautiful sunset. Great colouring and scene.

  3. Oh my, Robyn, what a wonderful piece of art! I love the brayered bamboo, especially with the added bits of painted on yellow. The soft wash of water and sky with that promise of a glorious sunrise beginning on the horizon really adds a wonderful atmosphere. Love the bright sails on that yacht. Such a lovely scene! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
