Thinking of You

The challenge this week at Power Poppy Creative Confetti - Design in the Dark, is to create a card on a dark background.
That's always a challenge for me but I have enjoy trying out something different - I used Distress Oxides and cotton tips to colour my image which I stamped on dark grey paper.... I was quite surprised with the result and next time I'm going to use Distress Inks to see if I can achieve a more vibrant colour.  After I'd finished colouring I spritzed lightly with water and it came up nice and bright (see bottom pic) but since then the colours have softened.  I finished the card with a stamped sentiment and framed the panel in black on a red card.  I am also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WW187 - Kath's "All About Occasions" challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

  1. Never tried this myself Robyn but you have certainly inspired me. Did you emboss onto the black paper or just stamp? Love your result.x

  3. Wow Robyn, what a gorgeous card! The textured red cardstock is the perfect frame for your wonderfully coloured floral images. Those Distress Oxides have a real look of chalk pastels to them, coloured on the dark grey as they are. I love the softness that creates. While the Distress Inks will likely give you a stronger colour, this soft pastel look has a wonderful beauty of its own. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
