CAS Stencil September challenge

Welcome to
and this month Julia would like us to use Baby Wipes with our Stencils.
Why not pop over to the blog and check out the fabulous inspiration from
the Design Team girls and join in the fun.

I love to use Baby Wipes to add colour to my cards - dry ones mostly.... and I've found wrapping one around an old piece of sponge works really well...just mind you don't have any creases in the wipe.
So I selected this floral stencil and carefully masked off areas on my white panel as I didn't want to use the whole stencil --- I used Distress Inks in Shaded Lilac and Seedless Preserves for the flowers and Shabby Shutters for the leaves.... the open centers of the flowers were a bit bland so I flipped the stencil and used Mustard Seed on the centers only and pressed this onto the card... I love how it turned out all spotty.  Of course then when I checked out the panel I wasn't as careful as I planned and had a couple of slight smudges - darn!! - I thought to flip the panel and start again, instead I just trimmed around the stenciling I'd done and created a corner.  I found in my stash a leftover frame from a previous die cut and attached that to the front of a white card.  To finish I stamped and gold embossed my sentiment and attached my stencil piece.

Julia has provided some helpful advise on techniques using baby wipes, we would love to see your card creations, remember to keep your cards Clean and Simple.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy card making.

  2. Beautiful flowers, Robyn, and I love how you "fixed" the smudges! Cutting around the flowers gives the card added interest! I'll have to try that smudges or not.

  3. What a clever idea inking with a dry baby wipe! Your flowers are beautiful and I love the 'accident' design of cutting around the edges and placing it in the corner! (I almost always smudge stuff at the last minute!)xx

  6. Beautiful card Robyn!! Love the mix of colours you've used to sponge through the stencil with a baby wipe. Very clever! And great save with cutting away the boo-boo ... we would never have know that you didn't plan to do a corner stencil if you hadn't said anything. I love the design! xx

  7. Lovely card Robyn, brilliant save by cutting out the stencil and a novel way to add the ink with a baby wipe. Beautiful framed design, Cathy x

  8. Beautifully stenciled flowers, Robyn. I love how your boo boo caused you to fussy cut your stenciled flowers for more textured, dimensional interest. A really creative CAS card design. Hugs..Nancy
