Two Cards featuring Fruit

Time for some "Twofer Cards" and this challenge #24 the theme is FRUIT.
I chose a 'half watermelon' stamp as my feature... with a friendship card and a birthday card.

For my first card I stamped the watermelon - two images, watercoloured them with Twinkling H2Os and fussy cut them out.  Then I stamped the sentiment in black and clear embossed it, then cut loosely around it.  To finish I found some pale green strip DP, sponged the edges for the background and a length of pink spotty ribbon and arranged the elements with foam tape.

Here is a close up...

My second card features the watermelon as the background... randomly stamped the image and watercoloured with Twinkling H2Os.  Next I stamped the wine glass, and watercoloured it too and fussy cut it out.  I used two stitched die cut circles to arrange my glass and display the stamped sentiment .. sponged the edges and wrote 'watermelon wine' around the edge... I'm sure a couple of friends would love to share a cool glass of watermelon wine -- from Tom T Hall; Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine.

Here's a close up too....

Thanks for stopping by my blog  --- have a Happy Day

  1. Watermelon wine sounds pretty good to me, too! These are wonderful watermelony cards, Robyn. And watercolored watermelons, to boot! I love patterned papers, and those stripes you've used on your birthday card are right up my alley. That little touch of ribbon compliments your slices perfectly, too. Love that you've used that slice as a background. It works so perfectly with your wine glass. Two great cards. Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge! Bev

  6. Oh, my watering mouth, Robyn, you really did a tremendous job watercoloring that watermelon on your birthday card with Twinkling H2Os! I grew up in Iowa and had the most delicious watermelon as a kid, but something happened and I haven't had that same taste since, anywhere in the country. I miss it! It must be that they cut them when they're green? Anyway, thank you, you brought back those happy flavor memories! I love both your delicious designs and how you showcased your fruit as both a star and as a background on your sweet cards! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #24! Hugs, Darnell
