Merry Christmas

A little reminder to join in over at
Christmas Kickstart challenge #31
theme - Wreathed in Christmas Smiles
Jo and I have been smiling lots at the lovely cards playing along this month, so even if you don't have a stamp or die you can create you own... just like it did with this card

I have a few photos of the process of creating a wreath from small stamps... I used those pine sprigs and sentiment from one set and the starry circle from the other.  Used a die to light draw a circle on my white card panel.

Stamped the sprigs using dark green ink  around the circle and filled in some spaces with lighter green ink

Next I used a brush to lightly watercolour the sprigs

I inked and stamped the circle of stars in red... they were a bit dull so I lightly spritzed with water.

Lastly I stamped and white embossed the sentiment on red card, decided on the red card and green layer and to add some dimension - using Nuvo clear crystal drops to all the red spots, then assembled the card using some foam tape under the sentiment strip.

Close up..

BUT Wait there's more.... I was really on a roll with my wreath ideas and so I have another to share made with die cuts which I'm also sharing with CAS Christmas May challenge - Winter Berries.

I die cut the holly and berries four times and used Twinkling H2Os to watercolour them... so they are really shiny.  Die cut a double stitched square frame and embossed white card background with hearts.  Then assembled all the elements on a square white card and finished with a stamped sentiment strip.

Jo and I would love to see some more Christmas wreaths, hope you can join in over at Christmas Kickstart.
Thanks for stopping by my blog ...   have a Happy Day and stay safe

  1. A great post and such lovely cards, Robyn! Thankfully I don't have to pick a favourite as I love them both. I'm now adding Nuvo clear crystal to my wish list - how have I managed so long without it? Big hugs, Jo x

  2. Two more gorgeous wreaths, Robyn! I love how you've stamped the pine boughs to form a wreath with all those pretty red stars! And the second wreath is so pretty with all the white space letting those red berries shine! Wow!

  8. Two beautiful wreath cards Robyn. So creative to use stamps from a variety of sets to create your beautiful wreath with stars and berries that are shiny and bright. Great design! Your second wreath is equally as beautiful with the lovely watercoloured holly and berries, along with the framing and dry embossed heart background. So much wonderful dimension! xx

  10. It's great to see a stamped wreath and a die cut wreath on the same post - interesting comparison! I love both of them but am leaning towards the die cut one as my favourite. Great shade of green on the two cards. And great framing on the die cut one. Thanks so much for making cards for the CAS Christmas challenge.
