A coupla Birthday cards.....

Bit late getting to create at my desk this week, as the rain has eased off and even today we have mostly blue skies, so I've been spending some time in the garden - it's so sodden and the weeds are growing faster than my plants... never mind, it's life and I'm thankful we don't live further west where there are devasting floods.

But I've made two cards today... this first one is for the Just Add Ink challenge #744 - the two I've chosen are flowers and shimmer.  I die cut the flower and water coloured it with my Twinkling H2Os and add a couple of die cut leaves from matt shimmer card and then the sentiment cut from silvery holographic card... I also gave the background patterned paper a  spritz with Mister Huey's Shine mist.

My second card is an attempt to use Distress Oxides with a stencil... as it's week 5 for
I blended Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord to create the background and after it dried off a bit, again used the Dusty Concord DO over a stencil....  well I didn't expect it turn out like this -  the Dusty Concord over the other colours dried off to look more like a blueish purple... anyway I like it and finished off the card with a gold embossed sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a wonderful day, Cheers Robyn

  1. A couple of beauties, Robyn. love all the shimmer on the waterlily card, and the unexpected colour on the second is quite beautiful. Glad to hear you have had some dry days, and are not in the flood region

  2. I'm sorry to hear there is flooding, Robyn, but glad you are safe ~ although soggy. It certainly doesn't take long for weeds to overpower! I'm also glad you got some creative time and I love both your cards! I can imagine the pretty shimmer on the blossom design and I, too, love the pretty color of stencil design using DO! Thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking to the gallery! 📌 Hugs, Darnell

  3. So happy you managed to make two beautiful cards during your week of lots of garden time! :) The first card is so pretty with all that lovely shimmer. Gorgeous watercolouring of the layered bloom and the background is just perfect to show it off. Your second card is awesome!! I love how you've blended the colours for the background, fading out on the right side. And your stenciled leaves overtop are a happy accident. Everything looks so beautiful together. Great work!! xx
