Time for Cake

Well finally I've got this card finished - you all understand how it is some days...nothing seems right, anyway now I'm happy.
This card is for the House-Mouse and Friends Monday challenge #HMFMC191...I do so  these cute images (the only cute I really do) and don't we all Eat Cake and probably too much on a birthday, but it is yummy. Also for Seize the Birthday challenge - Anything Goes
I coloured this image with Distress Ink and highlighted the cupcake wrapper with silvery gel pen. Then I found these two gorgeous background papers on a recent magazine purchase which suited my colour scheme. I modified the 'time for cake' sentiment and turned it into a banner - just drew some flags around the words and then threaded some twine across the top.  Finished the card with a birthday sentiment and a tag of ribbon fastened with a brad.

Merry Christmas tag

I'm feeling pretty chuffed with myself today - as I have completed all 12 tags for Tim Holtz 12 Tags for 2014...a challenge I set myself for the year as the tags he puts up each month are quite out of my comfort zone - also using lots of supplies I don't have, I have had to use my creative/inventiveness to achieve a similar end result.  Now in saying that I have certainly stretched my imagination and really enjoyed participating...so maybe I'll be back next year.

Autumn tag

My tag for Novembers 12 Tags of 2014 leaves a bit to be desired...I think it's a bit drab for me, but anyway I had a go...had to use that wooden leaf embellishment to create the impressed image on my autumn coloured background and to trace and cut around as I had neither embossing plate or die to use. Tis the Season to be Jolly

As we really don't celebrate Halloween in Australia I opted to make a Christmas tag for Tim's 12 tags of 2014, October. I followed the same process basically and am really happy with the end result.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Serenity tag

I'm pretty please with myself today after completing The September tag for Tim's 12 Tags of 2014 - that will be nine I've made with me dabbling in techniques I wouldn't normally go in for....but in saying that I'm sure I'll be using some of them on creations in the future. Make Today Beautiful...Celebrate

DSC00622A last minute post before I pack all my craft gear in the car for the big move tomorrow. So glad I got to make a card and this tag yesterday for Tim Holtz,s - 12 tags for 2014, August.
Once again I've improvised when I don't have the right elements but I'm pretty happy with the end result...I didn't have printed tissue tape so I stamped on the tag and stuck Magic tape of it and it worked well to take the Archival Ink and resist the distress inks.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

It's the Little Things

DSC00428Well this months- July, Tim Holtz tag of 2014 has so many elements...and I've used my imagination to fill in where I don't have his products.  I do hate covering up gorgeous backgrounds but participating in these challenges sure do help in this area.  I ran my acetate through the cuttlebug twice using a emb folder of various sizes circles to give 3D affect. And I wanted my seahorse bright instead of dark, he also has dimensional magic instead of crackle medium and I sprinkled on some micro beads and glitter. My shells are just stamped in DI on fawn card and the inner shell coloured and more dimensional magic. The sand was the fun part, pretty much followed Tim's recipe but added some real sand - not sure if it's going to all hang together. Then to finish off the tag, a few sprigs for seaweed, a stamped sentiment tied on with string and some threads through the tag hole. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Believe in Miracles Tag

DSC00308 3.37.51 PMHi and once again I'm on the last day of the month making my tag for Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2014 challenge...why I do this I don't know and especially for this month as I love the bright colours and butterfly theme he used. Again I have also put mine together with stamps and stencils I have on hand and have once again enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone to try his techniques. Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Fantastic Tag

DSC09557
Here I am again on the death knock completing my May tag for Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2014.  Always putting it off as it's out of my comfort zone..this type of artistic creation.  I am happy with my tag which is only based on Tims as I don't have his range of add-ons....I had to scrounge deep in my old stash to find my trinkets but do love the mother of pearl little fish best. ...sssigh...

Cherish Tag

  apriltag
Finally I've gotten around to making my April Tims tag - it  takes me forever to just sit down and tackle it because making one really takes me out of my comfort zone. And I don't have half of the goodies Tim uses to make his tag. Never to be put off - I will improvise; as I did making my trellis section - cut my own using my smallest fancy die. No washi tape ok, made my own on tissue paper. No mirrored card - found I had shiny silver paper, easy to glue to card. In the end I'm very happy with my tag which I still aging nicely next to the first three. Thanks Tim for your fab tutes and for your inspiration.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Hand Made 4...

DSC08872  Wow and just where has the month of March gone....so today my aim was to make my March tag for Tim's 12 tags for 2014...I followed most of Tim's directions and had to be a bit innovative in some bits as I don't have all the equipment and medium but overall it's turned out ok. I ended up only making one tag as my second stamped image was just too light. Thanks for taking peek Robyn

Love....many things

DSC08729
At last  my tag for this month - February  Tim Holtz 12 Tags 2014.  My sentiment card is actually just white embossing powder because I tried the chalk board thing but just couldn't make it work as I don't have the right supplies. I cut my own heart stencil on some old overheard projector transparent sheets which I now have for keeps. I also don't have too many metal elements so I created my own arrow and edge with silver ink and clear emb powder.  Still I had a go and am happy with the finished tag...something out of the box for me.  Thanks for taking a peek Robyn

Life is Good

JANTAGHaving fun with Distress Inks today .... my first time posting to Tim Holtz 12 tags for 2014 - January.  I haven't really played with distress inks other than creating some interesting backgrounds, so this shall be a learning event for me. Marvellous what you can find to use on a tag like trying to "copy" Tims example - my clock is from an embossing folder.  Thanks for taking a peek  Robyn
