What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday ??

..in my opinion!Hi one and all who've come for a peek of my desk ...Surprise, surprise, I'm not at home this week (again) so my workspace for this weeks 261 WOYWW.... is my backyard.
I've been one very busy lady pulling weeds and then laying new turf....and my poor old body is letting me know.
Quickly the story is...our son lives in our home in Townsville and we rent in Yeppoon 8 hours south for Stephens work.  Our son is not a gardener and I love my garden.  We bought new soil in, in January and the weeds have had a party - they are a meter  (3 feet) tall.

I did this much clearing 2 weeks ago and we picked up 50 square meters of turf Monday afternoon.

And slowly I am progressing across the yard..In 3 days I have filled 5 giant wheelbarrows and that huge blue tarp with weeds ... and there's more.  Then we'll need to buy in another 70 sq mts of turf...lucky for me hubby gets back Thursday and he can help :-)

I have till next Tuesday to finish the job and then I can concentrate on the garden beds when we visit.
Part of my tropical garden.
Thanks for taking a peek and if you'd like to know more about sharing your desk please pop over to Julias blog for an explanation and to see the list of other WOYWW deskers.
PS..we had our weekly plans changed sudden, resulting in this visit and I've forgotten to take a photo of my ATC to share.  I also have three left if there are any Aussie girls who'd like to swap...let me know on the comments and I'll get back to you. Cheers and have a wonderful week, Robyn

  2. This is truly stunning. I can already see the beginning of a wonderful yard. You have done an extraordinary amount of work, and I'm sure you are already quite proud of what you have accomplished.

Your comment on my blog post about others not wanting an ATC, is not quite accurate. see, each of these people were at the WOYWW crop and I sent a bunch of personalized ATCs to Julia and asked her to hand them out. I said I didn't want any in return, but everyone put one in and sent them back to me.

  4. Oh my goodness, Robyn. I am aching all over at the thought of what you have achieved so quickly! You are amazing! Well done. I haven't even BEEN out in our garden for a couple of weeks now, but hope to do something tomorrow. Plenty of weeds in my place too. BUT. REMEMBER - a weed is simply a flower in the wrong place....
    Have a great week.

  6. Robyn,

What a lot of really hard yakka work you are doing. Take it easy and don't over do it, it is easy to burn yourself out. Your gardening dedication is to be admired.

    Happy WOYWW

  13. It's that time of the year and it's not easy to fit in all that gardening and the crafting so you have to prioritise lol!

  16. Oh, my goodness, Robyn, you must be so strong to have accomplished ALL of that! What a gorgeous yard that is (and will be) and what a fabulous gardener you are!!

I didn't get a chance to visit you back last week and I'm sorry. My sister was here and I got so far behind. I didn't even play in WOYWW this week, but I hope to get back next week and show my ATCs. BTW, I've really enjoyed all the cards I saw on your posts between last Wednesday and this Wednesday!! 18. OMG! NO wonder you are exhausted. My dear husband isn't a gardener either so if it gets done I usually am the one who has to do it! Take it easy and don't hurt yourself. I haven't been able to post on Wednesdays for a while and I have missed it! Sorry I am so late getting around! Thanks for sharing. Vickie #62
