Best Wishes on your Birthday

Ok this week in between other duties, I've been mucking about with 'metal' elements again... I ripped the foil cover off the new butter tub and that's where this evolve from.  Very thin but stuck some double sided tape onto the gold side (writing on there) and the thicker plasticy ripoff layer helped hold it together when I ran it through the Cuttlebug.  I used an embossing die to impress the foil and then cut it out with a circle die.  Then from my stash I pulled out this gorgeous aqua and brown piece - Versamark sponged through a stencil (gone wrong, stencil too fine) and clear embossed then sponged with Distress Inks.  Then I decided to die cut a circle of aqua glitter card to go behind the metal feature and to finish added a matching gem.  Arranged onto a white card with a stamped sentiment layered onto a brown strip.  I am playing along at CAS Mix Up October challenge - Metal : my elements are Metal, dry embossing, stamping, die cuts, watercolour and heat embossing. I am also joining in with Watercooler Wednesday WWC192 - Marsha's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day.

  1. Wow Robyn, you have a way with inks! I love that wonderful background. It sets off the metal from the butter tub beautifully (what a lot of ingenuity and patience you have!) And with all that, you've kept it clean and simple, too. Amazing! Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

  3. Love how you used the butter lining and made your own metal embellishment. You have captured the challenge wonderfully. Great use of 'your gone wrong' stencilling, which looks fabulous as a background for the metal embellishment and sentiment. Wonderful card and a wonderful addition to the CAS Mix Up Gallery.....Thank you x.

  9. Who would have thought that the foil piece from a butter tub could look so pretty Robyn. I love the blue behind the die cut foil and the pretty blue gem in the middle, and the clear embossed and ink blended background piece goes perfectly, and love the brown layered strip sentiment. x
