Ok today I've a card for the CAS Mix Up January challenge - Bokeh technique ... this is a fun and effect sponging technique for a cool background. To achieve this I sponged Distress Ink in Weathered Wood and Hickory Smoke over card stock, and then using different size die cut circles sponged white pigment ink randomly over this, varying the intensity. Then stamped my pine branch a couple of times in the corner with dark green ink and added some white gel pen 'snow'. I sponged two shades of red DI onto my die cut cardinal and masking areas to give dimension. I stamped his face in black and fussy cut it, coloured the beak. Next I used a stitched die cut window to frame the background, attached my cardinal with foam tape and also my stamped sentiment.
Techniques used - Bokeh, stamping, die cuts, fussy cut. sponging
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, and happy card making

ReplyDeleteThis is STUNNING! Great work with the bokeh technique. I love the colours you've used ... so pretty and would go with any design. The pop of red from the cardinal looks beautiful over top of your pine branch corner. The 'snow' really adds depth as well. Great framing with the sweet stiched frame. xx
