Just for You

It's mid month and time for a reminder to join in the fun at CAS Stencil
and this months technique - Ghosting.

And here is my card with a reverse ghosting/stencil method - using a large sunflower stencil - I misted the stencil with water and carefully placed it face down onto my inked panel (randomly sponged and blended using Distress Oxides Mermaid Lagoon and Evergreen Bough).  I left it in place for maybe 20 seconds then lifted it and let the panel dry, then repeated the process in the other corner... not as successful.  So then what do I do with it now - I decided the cut out the nice one out (see below).

Then die cut a double stitched frame and being a large flower I maneuvered it so it fitted outside the frame and stamped and embossed my sentiment on the square base card behind the frame.  To finish I added some clear greenish micro glass beads.

This technique is quite fun and addictive, I played some more as I'm really happy how it worked.
We would love you to have a go and join in the challenge at CAS Stencil.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stenciling.

  1. Wow - how awesome is this design Robyn! Great ideas come from changed plans! I love how your negative ghosted flower is just growing right out of the frame and the added gems are so pretty in the center - I bet you can make another card with that other piece you thought didn't some out as well! xx

  2. Seriously ... I LOVE this card, Robyn! So artsy with the unexpected bright turquoise sunflower. Gorgeous! And your reverse ghosting turned out amazing. So creative and clever reverse the ghosting technique! I love how you've fussy cut and place the partial sunflower in your frame, with just a bit over the edge. And the pretty gems in the center of the flower really add a special touch with lots of sparkle! STUNNING card, my friend! xx

  8. Such a striking card. Love how you fussy cut the flower out and then popped the frame around it and left some of the petals peeping out....Out of adversity came brilliance....love it x

  9. robyn, your ghosted card is stunning and absolutely gorgeous. I love the look of the partial flower just peaking out of the edge of the frame. So lush somehow.
