Your Kindness Makes Such a Difference

Some catch up this week with the challenges at Power Poppy Creative Confetti - this weeks theme ... Plant Kindness.  From another panel I was experimenting with on Wednesday at Vikki's.... I sponged Distress Ink over a sunflower stencil and the added some detail/depth with a paintbrush.  At home I found this pre-cut frame (probably the leftover from a die cut square) and it framed the flower nicely as it is quite big.  Then I decided to dry emboss the side panel and sponged in some blue on the flower panel.  I used a layer of foam sheet to lift the front panel up and to finished added a stamped sentiment embossed in gold.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciated it - happy card making

Get Well Soon

My second card today is a spring bouquet - I stamped the image in light inks so I could watercolour with out lines, but I left the stamped panel and stamp in place in the Misti, so I could overstamp it in Brushed Corduroy DI to finish.  Then I decided to off set my die cut circle in green card and attached this with foam tape, so I could tie some twine around the edge.  To finish I stamped and die cut my sentiment circle and attached a small metal charm.  I am playing along with Just Us Girls Colour challenge #484  Green, Orange and Yellow. Also Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge - Think Spring and Watercooler Wednesday WWC218 - Marsha's "All About Occasions" challenge
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy card making.

Happy Birthday

Yesterday I spent some time with my card making friend Vikki and managed to watercolour a few card fronts, so today I finished them off.  This one using one of my stash of poppy stamps -- I stamped with grey ink and watercoloured with Distress Inks, then trimmed it to squares and formed up my window card for the Power Poppy Creative Confetti challenge -On the Grid.  I made a square card and used stripey DP to frame the panel and finished off with a stamped sentiment.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciated it, happy stamping.

be Merry....

This afternoon I have a male Christmas card to share... I dry embossed some cream card and used a template to hand cut the sweater.  I stamped the snowman, coloured with pencils and fussy cut it.  Found some DP to use as cuffs and bands and attached these to a store bought Christmas card (I buy up packs of cards cheap after Christmas to use the envelopes but this one had a large ornament attached with foam tape --easy to remove). To finish I die cut two sentiments, (cut 'be' from best) and glued these onto my card.  I am playing along with Watercooler Wednesday WWC217 - Michelle's Masculine "Anything Goes" challenge and Christmas Kickstart challenge #8 - Frosty and Friends.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy Christmas card making.

Santa's Workshop

This is a very old elf ..... well it's the only one in my stamp collection!!
CAS Christmas April challenge is asking for one of Santa's helper and mine is doing some of the light work - wrapping.  I stamped, watercoloured with DI and used the co-ordinating die to cut him and his gift out.  Then I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the sign post and added the sentiment, I masked and light sponged some blue DI over background and attached the elements with foam tape and to finish added some glitter to his pompom.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, have a wonderful weekend

Popping in to say Hello

Enjoying so time to catch up with challenges this weekend and today I have another card for the CAS Watercolour April challenge - Poppies.... I love them and I love to watercolour.
First I stamped my image in Antique Linen DI so I could watercolour a no outline image but I left both the stamp and image secure in the Misti. After the watercolouring was completely dry I re-inked the stamp in Brushed Corduroy and overstamped the image - it's a lovely fine line stamp so the fine outline reappeared.  I added some depth with coloured pencils and a 'soft yellow' glow around one side of the flowers.  To finish I used a deep yellow card and a grey blue layer, then popped my sentiment up with foam tape.  I am also playing along with Simon Says Monday challenge - Beautiful Blooms and Stamplorations Theme & Sketch April challenge - Stamps and Watercolours.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - have a lovely weekend.

Happy Birthday

Layered Stamping and Heat Embossing is the technique this month at CAS Mix Up .... and I was happy to find this two piece floral stamp so I could play along.  I first stamped the solid flower in light pink and used White Pearl EP, next I over stamped with outline stamp in rose red and Clear embossed it - so I have a really soft flower, I did the same with the leaves in two shades of green and then fussy cut them both. I found this stitched die cut frame in my stash and decided to die cut an underlay in a random spot background die so the pink card would show through - then attached these elements with foam tape.  I silver embossed my sentiment and attached that with tape too.
I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers April Anything Goes with Dies challenge.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stamping.

For A Special Friend

Well this month I've been totally blown away with the range of techniques and products used by the DT at CAS Stencil and the April challenge - Embossing Pastes/Gels, and so today I've combined a couple of ideas for my stencil rose.  First I decided to make a one layer card so I carefully masked off the leaves on the stencil and made sure the card and stencil were taped down.  I mixed Candied Apple DO with Gel Medium and used a palette knife to spread it through the stencil, quickly then I got my container of white fine glitter and sprinkled it on and gently removed the stencil.... now let that dry - patience!!  I had leftover, so I quickly did another rose on scrap - now must get the stencil washed up.  Then replaced the stencil, and repeated the process using Mowed Lawn DO, for the leaves.  Sighhhh - it worked. To finish my card, I stamped and silver embossed my sentiment.
I am also playing along with Happy Little Stampers CAS April challenge - One Layer Card.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stenciling.

With Love Tag

Recycled stuff on my tag today - old aqua Mulberry paper with gold strands, ribbon cut from inside new shirts, fine gold threads from Christmas tassels and a strip of sequins leftover from a garment.  I stamped my bunnies and used pencils to colour them and fussy cut. Die cut a tag and attached the layers and stamped my sentiment on a mini tag and tied on all my ribbons.  I am playing along with TAG you're it!  challenge #85 - Happy Easter, and TAGplorations April challenge - All About Recycling.  Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, Happy Easter

Strive for Progress not Perfection

New ARTploration stencils arrived this week, so I was eager to try them out so am joining in the April Stamplorations Mixed Media challenge. I used a light fawn coloured card for my panel and the Lupinus stencil teamed with Distress Oxide inks and sponged on my colours.  Then I chose a couple of other stencils to add depth to the bottom on the artwork and also stamped light background on the top and sponged the edges.  I stamped my sentiment on coloured card and attached to the artwork with a bird image. Finally a few random crystal drops over yellow spots and a dark purple back layer. I am also posting to the Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes challenge. Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, have a relaxing weekend.

Love and Best Wishes

Middle of the month already and I'm here with a reminder card for the

I used a small teardrop swirl stencil and white gel medium on white for my background, after the gel swipe, I lifted the stencil, let it dry and then replaced the stencil and spritzed with silvery colour mist - it leaked under the stencil a little but I'm liking it.  Then I stamped and silver embossed, watercoloured and fussy cut my sweet pea stem - that took longer than making the whole card and then chose a matching coral card to die cut a stitched frame. I finished the card with a stamped and silver embossed sentiment.

There's lots of fabulous inspiration from the DT girls over on the CAS Stencil blog.... pop over and check it out, visit the girls - they love comments.... and hope to see you join in the fun --- here's a hint - if you don't have paste or gels... you can colour up PVC glue to use through a stencil (here for a tag I made) - just make sure you remember to wash it up before the glue sets.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it - happy stenciling.
