Get Well Soon

Well maybe it's just the right timing for me to be making a 'Blue' themed card for June CAS Watercolour challenge - Something Blue...... because that's just how I'm feeling this weekend with news that my mum has had a fall and broken her leg, she's 88 - thankfully she's still healthy and fit and of a positive nature and will be taking Dr's order to stay off the leg for 6 weeks seriously, and she won't like me for putting her photo in here... Love you Mum and that's why I decided to make this a Get Well card.
I used Loll's Splash watercolour technique for the background and hand painted some flower stems with Twinkling H2Os.  I stamped my sentiment to the bottom of one of those leftover frames you create when you die cut a rectangle, then attached blue card to the back of the opening and trimmed my painted panel attaching it to fit leaving a narrow blue frame.
Thanks for visiting, I really appreciate it, happy watercolouring.

  3. Oh Robyn, this is an absolutely GORGEOUS card!! I have Twinkling H20's somewhere in my craft room too, but can't remember the last time I played with them! They look so pretty with your hand painted flowers and against your beautiful smooshed background. Lovely, lovely card and I'm sure your mom will love it too...and I hope the 6 weeks goes quickly for her!! :0)

  4. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's fall. That is so devastating I have the feeling she will obey the Dr's orders, but is none too happy about them! :) What a lovely card you've made for her Robyn. The blue background is so pretty and the shine from the Twinkling H2O's is amazing. Sending love and hugs to your mom and to you! xx

  5. That is tough for your Mum having such a bad fall - something similar happened to my Mum when she was 89 - I hated seeing her so frail and injured. Love your card with the beautiful shades of blue. Great colouring of the stamp with the Twinkling H2Os - I must remember to use them that way. Thanks so much for joining in with CAS Watercolour.
