I made my first floral card with the technique from Just Add Ink challenge #746 - Just Add Swirls...
using a stencil to blend yellow and green Distress Inks on a strip of white card... teamed this with some matching gold card with a thin strip of green
and finished off with a watercoloured die cut flower and stamped sentiment
My second card is way different from my usual florals.... and using the product prompt from the Group of Seven Cardmakers - Embossing Paste
using another swirly stencil to blend Wilted Violet Distress Ink over the whole white panel
when this was dry I replaced the stencil a little off center and swiped a mixture of Wilted Violet DI and Impasto Medium over the whole stencil again.
I was pretty happy with the effect when it all dried, then finished off the card with a stamped sentiment on a stitched die cut circle.
AND .. It's week 2 of Darnells IDEAS prompt which is D = Dies
Thanks for stopping by my blog, have a Wonderful Easter -- wishing you Peace and Enjoy some family time, Cheers Robyn
Two beautiful cards Robyn. Love your first card with you pretty 2-tone stenciling and your gorgeous die-cut flower. Lovely birthday card, my friend. Your second card is awesome with the 2-tone stenciling, but in a different way. I can imagine the depth of the design with the paste. Great work on both cards. Thanks for sharing your second card with us at Group of Seven! xx
ReplyDeleteWhat stunning cards Robyn - love your green and gold swirly one with the flower - that is exquisite. The purple one is so dramatic - it must look amazing IRL

ReplyDeleteI always learn from you, Robyn! I love the way you did the blending of the swirls through the stencil on your purple card and then offset it and stenciled again using your specially colored paste! I imagine it is even more striking in person! And your first card is really special! I love the simple design and the way the stenciled side panel does not overwhelm that stately and stunning single flower! Thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar to motivate others!📌 Happy Easter! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteYour two swirly stencilled backgrounds look fantastic. I especially love the purple one. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteHi Robyn, love your first card, brilliant 👏 work. Happy Resurrection day Shaz in Oz.x
ReplyDeleteI love the colourful look of the background stencilling and the pretty die cut flower over the top on the first card Robyn and then the second following our GO7 technique of adding paste, and wonderful results with the bright and pretty base colour through the lovely stencil, and the added impasto medium added over the top and the moving of the stencil to give that lovely shadow effect. Thank you for sharing this card with us over at the GO7. x
