Well I totally had some fun being inspired by Chriss's card for the Muse: Christmas Vision 62 challenge this week. Out came all my ribbons and shiny bits, and beads which haven't been 'aired' for ages  - I just wrapped them around a "tree" card I cut and added a simple stamped sentiment.  Thanks for taking a peek

 WEEK 187 FRIDAY SMILES

Happy Friday everyone and I hope you've had a wonderful week with plenty to make you smile...

I'm a little later posting this week as I've been over to our daughter home to watch our local rugby league time win by two point in one of the semi finals... so of course I'm really pleased about that.

But my 'make you smile' this week is a little incident that happened just prior to my game date. ...

I had to drop my hubby and son off at the game, early, so we needed to make sure our new hens were safely locked away - we've only had them two week as you know, and they've certainly made themselves at home and dug and scratched up heaps of my garden and all the mulch along our driveway. Well - we couldn't find them, nowhere in the yard, under the house and there I am over the back fence (it's open public park space), yelling out 'here chooky chookies', 'where are you girls' - the three of us checked out the yard and least three times and out along the front fences of our neighbours and even down the street and up the lane...no chickens.  Are they stolen, in the pound, eaten by the huge dog next door, so I'm getting anxious - a bit.  Well I dropped the men off at the club and drove back around the streets, nothing.  And I've called our daughter to say I'm not coming for dinner and wondering where I'm going to look next and if I'll have to do a letterbox drop in the morning.....when who should just amble on into the yard, right from the direction I'd been looking, but two naughty chooks.  What a relief, just been for a neighbourhood stroll, to check out if the grass is greener on the other side.

Now lastly just a series of sunrise pics I took this morning - I just love to watch how the sky changes colours - I know Kate does too.  You get the nicest ones when there's clouds and those are really what have us smiling because we are so in need of some rain....a little bit here but hopefully some more nearby in our water catchment areas.

White with a Splash of Red

Home again, after watching our local team play in the semi finals of the National Rugby League - go the Cowboys, just scraped in with a two point win in time on. This afternoon I finished off a few cards to add to my Christmas stash. This one is for the 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown and it's a colour challenge - White with a Splash of Red.  I stamped this Christmas ornament in red ink and I'm realizing my coloured pad are nearing their end but I did managed to find one red one to use and emboss for my top panel. Framed it with a red panel and finished off with a large gem. Thanks for taking a peek

  

Love tag

Here I've made a tag for the #55 Tag, You're It! challenge.  Using Melissa's lovely tag below for this weeks inspiration - I chose the background tag first and worked my colours and theme from it. Hunted out some of my tiny heart and flower stamps, embossed a heart border strip and die cut the 'Love' sentiment. Lastly I die cut the tag tops and sponged the edges and added a few gel pen green dots and a tassel. Thanks for taking a peek

Seasons Greetings

The ABC Christmas Card challenge this week is the letter "R" - and "Rip It" is the theme.  I was tidying some papers today and came across this background designer paper - I really like the colour combination - I would not have put grey and green together normally.  I found some matching grey card and "ripped it" to form the landscape for my tree to rest on - I stamped, embossed and coloured the tree and fussy cut it so the branches could over and under lap the base, then I dress on a chain of white gel dots and finished the card with a white embossed sentiment on dark grey card.  Thanks for taking a pee 

R is for 'Rip it'

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Well again I'm supposed to be doing something else which is important and I'm playing around with  my stamps and ink.  This card is for the Jingle Belles challenge - O' Little Town of Bethlehem - the idea is to use some buildings on the card.  So I've created a little scene with a few different stamps I have - stamped in black to create a night sky on this blue Brushos background. I finished off with a pre-made sentiment banner and a few glittery stars.   Thanks for taking a peek

Joy of the Season

I had this idea this afternoon to just smooch some Gold refill ink on my plastic mat and press my white card stock onto it, a few attempt and I achieve this one I thought could do for a background to my sentiment. I finished it my layering onto black card and added a stamped gold star decorated with a single gold gem. I really needed to use black Stazon ink as mine as seeped into the gold a bit.  My card is Gold, Black and White for the Merry Monday #212 challenge. Thanks for taking a peek

Happy Birthday

I've had one of those days... you know, when you're supposed to be doing something urgent and you keep putting it off and find something else to do.... mmm, well it's the hubby's birthday tomorrow and you'd think I'd be organised with a card... nope not at all... BUT anyway I've managed to make this card for CAS(E) this sketch #189.  Stamped the flower and white embossed it and then smooched Distress Inks all over. Then just needed a simple sentiment stamped and embossed on vellum and some tiny pearls to hid the glue.  Thanks for taking a peek
